Smelling Summer as It Blooms

This summer as in most summers there are seasonal "special edition" fragrances that are more "once in a lifetime" scents that one can try.  I usually fall for one of these (at least!) and buy what I can and enjoy the lingering scent of that summer and the memories associated with that fragrance are captured in that bottle and are triggered whenever I spritz it on!

For Summer 2005, here are 3 new fragrances you might want to try: Calvin Klein’s Eternity Summer, Eternity Summer for Men, and Chloe Collection 2005, a tweak of a previous fragrance to make it more modern yet still provide the capitvating aura of the original.

Eternity Summer is an interesting variation on the "Eternity" theme. With a nod to childhood memories when summers were simple, fun and seemed to last an "eternity", Eternity Summer is dewy green floral that captures times spent at the shore with sand, seagrass and ocean breezes.  This luscious fragrance features these notes:

TOP: hydroponic lily of the valley, verbena, violet leaf
HEART: white jasmine, gardenia and lotus
BASE: green island fig wood and mimosa absolute

This is a light-hearted scent perfect for summer mornings or sultry summer nights.
The 3.4 oz bottle has been reinterpreted by Fabien Baron with green sea glass with beach rushes. ($50)

Eternity for Men Summer is similar to the women’s fragrance but can be worn by either sex–particularly if a woman wants a cleaner, less floral variation.  Featuring a fragrance of seagrass, ocean notes and beachy scents, this fragrance seems to capture–and stop — time spent at the shore. This watery fresh fougere features these notes:

TOP:wet summer aldehydes, lush living melon
HEART: dewy violet leaves, hyacinth and cedar leaf oil
BASE:patchouli and amber

As you can see it’s both sliglhtly floral and fruity with a base redolent of amber and patchouli for a sexy fragrance. YUM!

Chloe Collection 2005  is a fragrance that is based on the classic Chloe yet has a very modern presentation making it very sexy and playful. It’s a limited edition that is a must have!  Aimed at the feminine intuitive sense, this is a chic fragrance that appeals to the  sophisticated and also those who are more spontaneous. The notes are:

TOP: pear, passionfruit, water leaf
MIDDLE: wet gardenia mist, hydroponic tuberose,
BASE: wet woods, white birch, musk

It presents subtle transparency of fruit and tropical notes along with the wet green morphing into the florals that are soft and gentle and then dissolve into the wet woods and sexy musk.
