Bargain Alert!! FABULOUS Makeup at a Discount!
Hey! Stevie from Fashiontribes.com here saying HEY!! Why the newsflash?? I just found a great bargain in cosmetics.. RARELY do you find cosmetics marked down.. but there is it on Beauty.com!
What is it: Tina Earnshaw Cosmetics
Who is it: Tina Earnshaw an Oscar-winning make-up artist who has worked with stars like Kate Winslet, Charlize Theron, Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell and more–even guys like tobey McGuire in SeaBiscuit! This uber-talented make-up artist has her own line of cosmetics out that seems to have been flying below the radar!! (that’s my speciality .. knowing about fab lines that most haven’t heard about!)
I have known Tina for a long time–since she worked with Max Factor on the line. Even then Tina talked about 2 things: doing seminars teaching average people how to do make-up–both historical and glamour; and also creating her own line of tools and cosmetics.
Where is it: Beauty.com –for cosmetics; TinaEarnshaw.com — for classes and the best brushes out there!
What came first: Tina did her brushes first: Necessities by Tina Earnshaw which are lusciously soft but exceptionally well-done brushes in a range of sizes and applications. You can find these brushes at her website on the brush page– TinaEarnshaw.com. Click on Cate Blanchett’s photo –fourth from the top on the right. If you mouse-over, you will see "products" come up and click there. Three entire pages of brushes from which to choose. I have the Mini-Buffer ( which I love!), Eye Shader, Eye Crease, taklon Concealer and Angle Liner. Way cool!!!! These brushes work beautifully and give you smooth precise application!
What came next: The make-up artistry classes. Limited to just FOUR students, you get one-on-one attention with world renowned Tina Earnshaw to learn how to do your make-up and apply it to others with the most amazing techniques. She’s an absolute doll and I love her to death. Every time we talk/see each other, it’s a huge "rush" of words and chit-chat to catch up on what’s going on with her!
WAIT!! You want to know about the COSMETICS BARGAIN!!
Tina Earnshaw Cosmetics is a stellar line created to the exacting standards of Tina Earnshaw. It’s so cool that tons of celebs have the line. Charlize Theron wore a lot of it on the Italian Job and she was given a fresh set to go home with for her to use.
Tina’s collection is limited to lip, cheeks and eyes–all color! No foundation, no real powder (at least not yet, though Tina is working on a line of foundations. It’s just not met her standards yet)
The lne consists of shadows in singles and quads all with a silky texture and easy to apply. It’s fairly sheer so you just layer more on if you want greater depth of color. Want even more intense pigment? Use a wet (but blotted) brush and brush lightly in one corner of the color for a deeper tone and more long-lasting finish. From pales like Vanilla Tinge and Shell to brights like Lime Lush ( an intense, vibrant almost emerald green) to neutrals like Fawn (matte light cocoa) and Kiss Kiss ( satin taupe brown) to fashion tones like Lily (a soft greyed lilac with a sheen) to seriously smokey colors that are perfect for fall and special occasions like Jet Diamond ( shimmer deep charcoal). Earnshaw covers all the single shadow bases.. Singles typically retail for $20.
Her quads are color-coordinated so that all the colors work well together. Two that I have worked with are Bardot which includes Tabac (tobacco brown), Soleil Peche (soft peachy brown), Ballet Slipper (a dusky rose that is almost neutral and works well as a wash), and Bridget (a more violet tinted pink)–all which work well as neutrals or the base for other more vibrant colors. Giverny is more garden-hues: Diamante (soft silvery grey), Silver Screen ( an almost gunmetal slightly blue grey–but once it goes on, it’s grey!), Lily (seems to be a bit more lilac than the Lily single but is probably that color), and Gunmetal (which isn’t grey but deep bronze grey like burnished metal). Quads typically retail for about $36.00. (shown is Charmane)
Blush Trios are amazing: three colors in a palette from bright, medium and deep for use as a regular blush (medium), deep for slight contouring or bronzing, and bright for the pop on the apples of the cheeks. Each can be worn individually or together. The trio I have is Rosemarie which features Orchid (the bright), Pinky Pink ( a soft rose pink kissed with a hint of brown) and Rosa (a deeper tone of almost berry) all of which would work well year round. Since the textures are sheer, don’t let the colors scare you. You can build your color gradually. Blush trios typically retail for $38.00
Blush Singles (Glacier Monos) are beautiful silky blushes in come hither colors that will give you that perfect glow. Typically they retail for $20.00
Earnshaw created some Palettes for eyes, lips and cheeks. These multi-purpose products come in PINK and BRONZE and the bronze one is phenomenal. The cream texture is easy to use. Typical retail is $30.00
Lip Colors come as lipsticks, lip glosses and lip quads. The lipsticks are rich in pigment and very creamy. I love the ones I have — Rio, a pinky-red that works well sheerly applied or full strengt, is a favorite.
For a more neutral look, try Bare Babe which has some of that pink-brown tone but still a bit different. Typically the lipsticks retail for $20.00
Lipglosses are WOW– so much my favorite. This highly pigmented very glossy lip colors come in a pretty good range of colors. Apply full strength for that dramatic lip or apply with a brush for a soft stain affect. Typically the lip glosses retail for $16.00 and are pocket sized!
My favorites are Pearl Gold which is a perfect topper for a pencil, lipstick or on its own which a shimmer light gold effect. I like Raspberry since it’s more pinky berry toned. Red Red is a great glossy red lip gloss that’s perfect for a night out. It would leave a luscious stain on your lips.
Lip Gloss Quads are worth the money since you get four colors for the price of one in a cool case that makes toting it or leaving it in your desk an easy breezy option for touchups! Earnshaw has several color collections but I have my faves which include the Ines Quad which features Nearly Bronze, Burgundy, Rose Crush and Naked for a creamy satin and shimmer lip color. Don’t let the colors fool you–they are much softer when applied with a brush but you can go full strength for great pigment intensity. ( Naked is that lower left color but it’s not really ORANGE but a soft sheer color). Typically the quads retail for $30.00
