CINCO de MAYO + TGIF = GREAT Times for Partying with GRAN CENTENARIO TEQUILA

Cinco De Mayo may not seem like much of a holiday– in fact it’s primarily about a battle, but here in Los Angeles–the city of Angels–we take our heritage very seriously–particularly when it comes to our spirits– as in TEQUILA!. To comemorate the Cinco De Mayo date and also because this day falls this year on a Friday, it’s an even bigger celebration and a greater reason to get out there and PARTAY!!
Not just any tequila will do; one must drink the finest, smoothest of brews and that means
GRAN CENTENARIO!!

Gran Centenario has been handcrafted in small batches at the Hacienda Los Camichines in Jalisco since 1895. According to family tradition and recipe, the 100% Blue Agave plants are harvested after 10 to 12 years, far more than the typical  eight years for other Tequilas.  Agave is cooked for 72 hours, (longer than the  standard 48 hours) allowing the most subtle flavors to remain. Only the "heart" of the tequila bear the name Gran Centenario!  Expert “Tequilero’s” use their 200 + years of tradition and expert knowledge for aging Tequila in wood to create the perfect balance between the Agave flavor and the wood.  The result is a magnificent  collection of three award-winning, ultra premium  Tequilas — Plata (silver), Reposado (rested) and Anejo (aged).

Gran Centenario Plata rests for 28 days in French Limousin oak barrels to soften the spirit’s edges and  offer up aromas of lime, citrus, apple and melon.  A peppery, herbal note is balanced with the Agave aroma and its earthy tone.  The smooth, clean profile makes it the quintessential Tequila for mixing in cocktails such as the Centenario Bloody Maria, Gran Mojito and will provide a twist to classic cocktails like Cosmopolitans and Margaritas.

Gran Centenario Reposado is distinctly different from Plata. Its refined, elegant spirit features a well-rounded and balanced character.  Gran Centenario Reposado rests for ten months in French Limousin oak casks and utilizes the Seleccion Suave process, with older Tequila reserves are added  to achieve the perfect balance of oak and Agave notes.  Subtle vanilla and cinnamon hints couple with  citrus, pear and tropical fruit notes emerge. This complex flavor is delightful sipped neat, on the rocks or when mixed in ultra-premium cocktails such as the Centenario Margarita, Gran Centenario Margatini, & Centenario Pomegranate Ruby Margarita.

Gran Centenario Anejo is one of the finest distilled spirits in the  world. Delicious and complex,  it represents the true aging expertise.  Aged for a minimum of 18 months in French Limousin oak casks, the unique Seleccion Suave process blends fine quality aged Tequila reserves to   impart unparalleled smoothness and quality.  Gran Centenario Anejo has a sweet, honeyed flavor with tantalizing aromas of clove, nutmeg, orange, tangerine, candied fruits, figs        and toasted coconut.  Akin to a fine Cognac, Gran Centenario Anejo should be enjoyed in a   snifter as an indulgent after-dinner drink or in decadent cocktails such as the Centenario  Billionaire’s Margarita and the Gran Centenario Beso.
