Faking the Summer Glow — Cosmetic Special Effects

It’s the Fourth of July and what better time to hit the beach, boat, lake, pool or backyard. If you have been a "good girl", you have been using your sunblock religiously and  are probably pretty "white" — in fact too pale to go out without 1) sunblock and 2) some faux color.

While it’s not too late to self-tan (start NOW!), you do need a bit of help faking the all over body glow as well as the face glow. Here are some great products to help you get through the ghostly pallor and will  make it
easy to "fake" it when it comes to being bronze and beautiful.

1) Start with body products first since they take a bit longer to apply —and dry– and you don’t want streaks. By using a temporary body bronzing cream after you have done your self-tanning, any streaks or missed spots will be covered! Bobbi Brown’s  BEACH Shimmer Glow Body Cream is a glorious way to glow.  The beachy scent is sure to make you feel fab!

Match that glow with Bobbi Brown’s Split Pan Bronzer+ Blush. This twin caked compact complete with mirror features a neutral light tan with a rosy blush or a deeper tawny bronzer with an apricot/pink blush. GORGEOUS– and so easy to give you that true  "been at the beach all day" glow.

Want to add a bit more pop or shimmer for an evening or special event? Check out the Bobbi Brown Peony Shimmerbrick– a multitude of glorious rosy pink shades from light to dark to swirl across cheeks and even smudge a bit across the lids.  Just like the other Shimmerbrick compacts, this one is a true winner and the pink shades are to die for!!

Chanel  has a couple products that one should not pass up when it comes to looking fabulously bronze– even if you are faking it! Both are for the face and depending on skin type and the ease of application, you can make your choice.

The Bronze Universel de Chanel  Sun Illuminator is a creme bronzer in a jar that dries to a soft powder finish so you don’t look oily and it doesn’t smudge but glides across the skin and you can easily blend out the color for a sheer tone or layer it on for a deeper bronze.

Another product  to check out is the Chanel Irreele Soleil–which is a fancy way of saying powder bronzer but it’s sounds so much prettier, don’t you think?  This silky soft bronzer is perfect for  touch-ups on the run or for traveling or just for everyday use. The powder brushes on for a soft light glow and can be layered on for more color but still be sheer.

Where to buy these fabulous products? You can always buy them online from Gloss.com, Saks.com, Nordstrom.com and Neimanmarcus.com or at  Saks, Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdales and also select Macys and Sephora stores for Chanel products only.

So hit the stores and get GLOWING!!

See you at the beauty counter!
