Currently you can meet your “true love” in a traditional setting like at a bar or through friends but you can also go the more non-traditional route and meet your match on a dating web-site or a chat room. Yes.. you really can– those commercials for match.com and eharmony aren’t exactly bogus! For some, they really do work.

Relationships are anything but typical these days and whether a romance is short-term or long-term, bold or demure, more people are embracing i*romance* more openly. For over a decade, Harlequin has been developing yearly Romance Reports just in time for Valentine’s Day. This year’s report delves into the current state of romance, how it has changed and where it is headed.
One of the main points of this year’s annual report is the trend toward confessions. Whether it is a sordid office romance, a secret nip tuck or a likeness for late night snacks, everyone has a few indiscretions which they are reluctant to divulge. Thanks to Harlequin (and I think Facebook has an app for this too), there’s a place to confess anonymously– so you can spill your guts (and not your coffee or cosmo) online rather than into someone’s gaze and dropped jaw. The new interactive web-site offers an online confessional forum as well as an interactive survey.
The survey results shape the content of the Harlequin 2008 Romance Report: Confessions.
Romance Expert Marleah Stout discusses the survey results and the current state of romance in America and provides tips and advice on romantic travel destinations and celebrity romance profiles.

Marleah Stout is the Co-editor of the Harlequin Romance Report. She recently served as a judge on the Oxygen Network’s hit reality TV series, “Mr. Romance.” Marleah has made numerous TV appearances including Fox & Friends, CNN Headline News, MSNBC, The Early Show, ABC World News Now, and The Daily Show With Jon Stewart.

Secret confessions huh.. sounds interesting– if just to be that closet voyeur into someone else’s world. However we all have our secrets– even if it’s only lusting after the latest dark chocolate from Rechiutti or Cocoa Luxe.
