LA-Story.com got Brett’s “take” on what the key beauty trends would be for the 2008 Oscars as well as some key beauty tips!
Oscar Beauty According to Brett Freedman!
Oscar ’08 looks to be a very glamourous event. I’m predicting lots of high wattage beauty. Since Hollywood has been robbed of some serious red carpet exposure, look for this year’s Oscars to be an all out extravaganza! If anyone is thinking to be low key and casual this year, they will definitely be lost in the crowd. Here’s what I think we’ll see, make up wise.
Color is back! Though we’ll still see some JLo inspired neutral glossy lips, I think the return of color saturated lipstick will be front and center. I think we’ll see lots of classic reds…but look for plum and burgundy shades also.
(oh my gosh — we so love this idea! It’s time for color again!)
Healthy glow. I think we’re past the sun dipped, bronzed faux tan look on the red carpet. Look for skin with more of a tawny glow. Actresses will still want a lift of color…but something more natural will be in order. Pale skin will also be a crowd pleaser this year.
Lashes and Eyeliner win every award. It’s back to the strip. The subtle individual lashes will take the back seat as the good ol’ strip lash takes the wheel. Not the heavy, 60’s looking versions we’re used to. Todays strip lash is sparser and amps up the lash line, not bury it. Look for eyeliner to be extended and bit more theatrical.

Blush up and out! To balance the drama of the rest of the face, blush will be all grown up, too. Say good bye to the apple-y ‘sweet cheeks’ look of past ceremonies. A more womanly, toward the temple upward sweep will be all the rage.
Shimmer. I’m predicting skin will still be shimmery…but not so golden. I think a nice champagne tone will dominate the evening.
