The Celebrity Style Slam is reviewing First Lady Michelle Obama’s Ball Gown for the inauguration
Michelle Obamas Ball gown:

Style
It shows confidence and assurance that Michelle Obama chooses relatively small niche designers for her public events and adopts her “own look” –creating individuality and walking her own fashion/style path rather going for a mainstream look. It also reflects the American spirit going for the” underdog”.
Color:
For the balls, Mrs. Obama made her entrance in an ivory chiffon gown by emerging designer Jason Wu. Though the ivory colour of her gown is a bit too light for her colouring as a solid color dress, it does reflect a subtle message she is sending: that this change of administration embodies ” a dream; a fairy tale come true and a ray of hope to all! Let’s start fresh with a clean slate.” It reflects the statement started earlier in the day with her yellow inaugural dress and coat ensemble that the future is bright!

Bodyshape

Her one – shouldered dress is perfectly balanced with the flared out skirt and hemline. The high fitted waistline gives her a nice silhouette where the bust line details creates a beautiful feminine décolleté line. The many layers of chiffon and non restricted skirt line reflect again her modern, relaxed and practical style, that makes her feel comfortable for the 9 balls to attend. The crystals provide nice sparkle to the dress and herself and just underline her beautiful smile.
it just makes it all eye catching doesn’t leave anyone in doubt that she is truly the “Queen of the Ball”. She keeps her relaxed and modern style as well going in her hairstyle, which just shows how comfortable she is in her skin. She is a far cry away from all the mumsy, old fashioned, stiff, Barbie or too done up previous ladies. She truly reflects the “Zeitgeist” of women today.
