Queen Latifah Celebrates Her Birthday in Glam Cover Girl Style!! !!

Abbey Khan, a friend, writer and editor was able to cover this cool event for LA-Story.com which was the birthday party for Queen Latifah at SIR Studios in LA!! This event was chock full of celebrities and Latifah even performed for the crowd which was something sensational!

Sure Queen Latifah is naturally gorgeous, but a little makeup just accentuates her beauty even more.

On Saturday, Cover Girl threw her a birthday bash where she performed a few songs solo. Later on Queen Latifah returned to the stage with MC Lyte, Missy Elliott, Lil’ Kim, Lady Rage and Yo-Yo.

Celebrity makeup artist Sam Fine tells us how he used Cover Girl products to create Queen Latifah’s evening look and how you can do the same.

“For Queen’s birthday party, we wanted to really rev up the glamor,” he said. “The easiest way to take a look from day to night is to focus on a bold eye statement and add gloss to the lips. We made the eyes sparkle to compliment the gorgeous couture corset she had made.”

Apply a halo of bronzer around the crown of head and on cheeks to add luminosity to the skin.

Add blush to the bronzer you’re already wearing to make the cheeks pop with color.
Create a smokey, sultry eye by using black and silvery shadows. Line the inner lower rim with black eyeliner. Apply glitter to the inner corners of the eyes to make them sparkle.
Finish by adding lashes and fusing them with a few coats of mascara. Finally, slick on a shimmery lip gloss to add pizazz to your pout.

Since Queen Latifah was dancing and singing, Sam had to make sure that her makeup was sweatproof. He suggests splitting a 2-ply tissue into a 1-ply, and then blotting off the excess oil to leave a matte finish before applying bronzer and the rest of the makeup.
