Redken Gives You Summer 09 Hair Style Trends

Tracey Cunningham, Redken Creative Consultant for Color and Hollywood Colorist, and David Stanko, Haircolor Consultant for Redken and NYC based colorist, have the latest in summer haircolor trends and what
you should ask your stylist for to achieve the hottest looks of the season.
According to Redken, 57% of women in the US age18-64 have color treated hair and 23% of women over 18 report currently blonde all over haircolor – there are natural blondes, color treated blondes, highlighted blondes and platinum blondes, each with distinct needs.
“Bright, light shades are the must have haircolor this summer,” explains Tracey Cunningham. “There are so many variations of blonde shades that clients want to play with to achieve the perfect beachy color this summer – from icy platinum blondes to cool dark blondes.”

“Giving women beautiful blonde is easy with Redken’s new Blonde Glam Collection,” states David Stanko. “The collection includes in-salon haircolor solutions to at-home maintence products, to create and maintain a beautiful range of blonde shades.”

Summer Haircolor Trend #1: “Light It Up”
“Blondes always want to play with their haircolor,” says Cunningham. “Think Cameron Diaz; I add highlights for dimension and a beachy, lived-in, radiant summer look!
“Women looking for dimensional blonde haircolor should ask their colorist about Redken’s Blonde Icing Power Lift, part of the new Blonde Glam Collection, for luxurious, conditioning lightening for all bases and hair types,” explains David Stanko.
“To set the tone and preserve clients’ haircolor investment, women should use Redken’s
Blonde Glam haircare regimen and specifically the new Blonde Glam Rich Vanilla Color
Enhancer conditioning treatment designed for women with blonde hair or highlights who wish to keep locks warm in tone and haircolor that’s always in fashion,” adds Stanko.

Summer Haircolor Trend #2: “Cool It Down”
“For my clients that are ready for change this summer, I add dramatic highlights to a cool base, and then use Shades EQ for the perfect tone! Think Molly Sims for this look,” explains Cunningham. “Shine is also a sought-after feature this summer; it is important to have to shine to make your color look healthier and richer.”
“To achieve this blonde shade, consumers should speak with their colorist about Redken’s NEW Blonde Glam Collection Double Fusion Titanium shades which lift high while infusing hair with icy-metallic hues,” explains David Stanko.
“To set the tone, women should look for Redken’s new Blonde Glam Perfect Platinum Color Enhancer conditioning treatment designed for women who wish to keep their blonde strands from turning brassy or have ultra-pale to light blonde hair or highlights. To maintain this haircolor at home, women should use Redken’s Blonde Glam haircare regimen specifically formulated to meet the needs of all blonde hair types.”

Summer Haircolor Trend #3: “Red-Nette Glamour”
If a consumer is not looking for blonde, not to worry,” says Cunningham. “This summer
brunettes and redheads will look for a glamorous blended shade of brunette and red to create a stand-out shade. Think Emma Stone as the inspiration for this look.”
“To achieve this shade, women should speak with their colorist about Redken’s Color Fusion Advanced Performance Color Cream and Shades EQ Equalizing Conditioning Color Gloss brands,” explains David Stanko.
