Comic-Con in San Diego Strikes Again with Movies, Series, DVDs, Panels, & the Masquerade Ball !

If you are attending Comic-Con in San Diego, you are going to be blitzed harder than Disneyland in the summer with stuff to see, do, attend — and walk away with.
Star Trek

At the Paramount Home Entertainment booth fans can:
be photographed at the helm of the Enterprise;
fraternize with galactic green girls;
enter to win a limited edition Captain’s chair
All this to build anticipation for the DVD and Blu-ray debut of Star Trek.
Trekkies can “multiply” their fun by picking up a Tribble at the PHE booth and submitting images of themselves and their furry friend at the exclusive Tribble Gallery on CBS-BDLive.com
Dreamworks

Get a 3D photo with B.O.B., the gelatinous hero from DreamWorks Animation’s smash hit Monsters vs Aliens.
Look for a live appearance on family day (Sunday).
The booth will feature loads of giveaways for other upcoming home entertainment releases, including the box office behemoth Transformers and demos of new games including Star Trek PSN and Warriors XBLA.

Comedy Central
The co-creators and stars of Comedy Central’s irreverent hit “Drawn Together” are participating in an animated panel Thursday, July 23 from 7:00-8:00 p.m. in Room 6BCF.
Foxxy Love, Cree Summer (Transformers: Animated) and Wooldoor Sockbat/The Jew Producer, James Arnold Taylor (Star Wars: The Clone Wars) will discuss their new film, The Drawn Together Movie: The Movie! . They get irreverant because they will host a round table discussion on the politics of religion in the workplace, where to get a decent sandwich and more.

Other Events

On Friday, July 24, PHE will host a happy hour to toast the DVD debut of Road Trip: Beer Pong on August 11.
Featuring beer pong girls, games and beverages, the event will take place at Henry’s Irish Pub in the nearby Gaslamp district at 614 5th Ave from 4pm to 7pm.
The Cabonauts
Check out Hayden Black and the cast including a special appearance by Star Trek’s Nichelle Nichols who will be at the con at least one day to talk about The Cabonauts, Black’s new venture into digital series as a sci-fi musical. This is one hot series. Check out the podcast on Saturday early AM with Hayden Black on this blog.
The trailer for the show will be launched during the Masquerade Ball!!


Marvel Entertainment
Marvel Entertainment Inc., has partnered with uber-famous Japanese animation studio Madhouse (Paprika, Tokyo Godfathers) to create four anime versions of classic Marvel Super Heroes
Catch a first glimpse of two of the planned four series at Comic-Con International,
The Marvel Animation Panel will be from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. on Friday, July 24, featuring
exclusive first look at official teaser trailers for two of these new series,
hosted by writer and multiple-Eagle Award winner Warren Ellis, discussing writing the all new adventures of these re-imagined Super Heroes.
The Marvel Anime TV series is being developed to merge the western culture’s Marvel Super Heroes with the bold animation tradition of Japan. The result will be four visually groundbreaking anime series featuring popular Super Heroes redesigned & repurposed from the fabric of the Japanese culture’s anime.
The series is expected to begin appearing on the Animax channel in Japan in spring of 2010.
An autograph signing with Ellis will follow the panel at Marvel’s Comic-Con booth #2429.
Twentieth Century Fox

DollHouse

Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment has been pre-selling Joss Whedon’s mysterious cult series “Dollhouse” a special advanced limited edition Blu-ray or DVD of the first season, exclusively at San Diego Comic-Con International. Individually numbered and highly collectible, only 5000 (2500 Blu-ray/2500 DVD) copies were created, each featuring a personal letter to fans from Whedon and exclusive Comic-Con packaging.

If you are attending Comic-Con, you might want to check to see if any of these DollHouse DVDs are still available. If you have already ordered, you win! A limited quantity will also be available for on-site purchase at the Fox Booth (#1429).
In person pick-up for those that pre-ordered the collection will begin at the Fox Booth on Wednesday, July 22 (preview night). Photo ID is required or purchasers must designate at checkout someone who will pick-up the DVD on their behalf.

Trailer for Doll House
The “Dollhouse” Season OneComic-Con Blu-ray Disc will be available for a suggested retail price of $69.99 and the DVD will be available for $49.98. Regular versions of “Dollhouse” Season One BD and DVD will be available everywhere July 28.
Masquerade Ball
Paramount Home Entertainment is sponsoring prize packages for the ever-popular Masquerade Ball with loads of DVDs being awarded to the Best Hero or Villain and the Best Youth costume
Don’t miss the Ball on Saturday, July 25th starting at 8:30 pm in Ballroom 20.
