Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum Looking for a celebrity sighting? Well this isn’t exactly the real thing — but it’s pretty close as you can get to a guaranteed celeb spotting. Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum has opened and now it’s ready to rock and roll in Hollywood

This is the first Madame Tussauds, in the company’s 200-year history, to be built from the ground up, and will be housed in a 40,000 square foot, three story contemporary building with underground parking, designed by noted Los Angeles architect Michael Rotondi of JAG/RoTo Architects.
Newly created wax figures — said to cost $300,000 each — of singer Beyoncé Knowles and Oscar-winning actor Jamie Foxx, were among the first two figures made for exhibition in the sprawling, new attraction.
Madame Tussauds, Marketing Director, Drew Potton says, “If Hollywood was around when Madame Tussaud was alive, this would have been her first destination.”

“Madame Tussauds Hollywood is a perfect example of how new growth in Los Angeles is helping us weather these tough economic times. Here we have construction jobs and soon, it will join the ranks of iconic attractions that draw visitors to Los Angeles from across the United States and around the world,” remarked Los Angeles Mayor Villaraigosa.

August 12 – September 6, 2009
LEGALLY BLONDE follows sorority star Elle Woods, an underestimated blonde who doesn’t take “no” for an answer. When her boyfriend dumps her for someone more “serious,” Elle puts down the credit card, hits the books, and sets out to go where no Delta Nu has gone before: Harvard Law. Along the way, Elle proves that being true to yourself never goes out of style. After turning Broadway and MTV hot pink, this “Feel-Good Song and Dance Juggernaut” (New York Magazine) was proclaimed “The Best New Musical Around!” (WOR).
