Debutante Clothing's Sandra Gives You Tips on How to Measure Fit for Vintage Styles

Debutante Clothing’s Sandra is amazing.

She’s been rocking the vintage beat for a while and when I first met her “irl” (in real life) she looked like a super hot, fashionista version of America Ferrara’s Ugly Betty (that’s when the show first came out). The only person I know who can pull off an animal print dress and “own it”.. Really– I can’t do that or maybe I haven’t found the right animal (maybe fur and mink coats are more my thing but I don’t see me wearing those either) .
Sandra and I were talking about a week ago about what’s up with the vintage world. While everyone is talking about wearing vintage, people are trying to score the Diors, Chanels, Thierry Mugler and Halston dresses. Sorry girlie girls, but you aren’t going to find those for less than 4 figures unless it’s an accessory. Even then, it’s not going to be inexpensive.
We got to talking about how to find great vintage and my question to her was how to find something that fits. I have trouble online (read Ebay) and finding things that are going to fit me across the shoulders, the bust and not have a huge skirt that once altered ruins the look of the dress. Sandra gave me some good shopping advice in a post she wrote a while back about how to shop online and also tipped me off to a great instructional video she put together on how to take your measurements and this one is a MUST SEE . I am making it easy so that you see it below.

Debutante Clothing: Vintage 101– How to take your measurements
FYI: don’t you just love Sandra’s ring, bracelet and necklace? I notice little things like that.
