Swarovski Fashion Week: Joseph Altuzarra Brings Sexy Back to the Catwalk

Joseph Alturzarra launched his first season with Swarovski with a real bang! Anna Wintour from Vogue Magazine made a pit-stop back stage to get a snapshot discussion with Altuzarra before going out front and sitting front row to see the collection as it hit the catwalk. Amazing coup for a young designer and such an encouragement.
Born in Paris, Joseph was educated and did his fashion internships here in the US and then went back to Paris to work with Givenchy before returning to New York for a stint at creating his own fashion line.

This collection is definitely red carpet worthy and distinctly sexy. Altuzarra has a real command and understanding the feminine body and how to work it to its' best advantage. What's interesting is that while he did so many red dresses in various hues of that color, he also has some clothing that works beyond the red carpet and that would become staples in a woman's wardrobe. One would call his line fashion as opposed to on-trend because the style and design of each piece would hold up over time and could be worked into different events.
Personally, I get the feeling this is one young designer to keep your eye one because he is going to be huge. Get him into a ready-to-wear collection and he would be hot — and haute– for women, no matter the size of your bank account or your body.
