Get Moving! Workout Videos to Help You Get Energized: Yoga, Cardio & Core Fusion x2!! Part 2

This is part 2 of workout DVDs for you to use at home, on vacation or wherever you are. Some are more suitable only for home use – but you could definitely toss the dvds into the suitcase for any trip you might make.
I have found over many years that overweight people often feel that losing 60-100 or more pounds is really hard and hesitate to go to a gym. Who wouldn’t be intimidated? However there weren’t a lot of workouts that made the moves easier for those who were overweight or truly out of shape. Now there are two Yoga DVDs out from Abby Lentz entitled HeavyWeight Yogadesigned for people who are overweight or obese.

This is a 2 hour DVD!! you have customize your yoga regimen based on what you want to do that day so it never really gets boring and it’s certainly challenging. By working with the 3 A’s of HeavyWeight Yoga — awareness, acceptance and affection, you can start today with the body you have today and get stronger, healthier, reduce stress and be fitter.

Definitely a great fit for anyone who wants to get into yoga for health’s sake and stress reduction. Abby Lentz makes it easy to learn and fun as well.


HeavyWeight Yoga 2: Change the Image of Yoga

This is another video for the Abby Lentz fan club — and it’s more than just for those who are overweight! For anyone who feels that they can’t do yoga or be involved in fitness activities, this particular style of teaching that Abby presents will help you get off the couch and get healthier. It’s amazing. She’s incredible and she makes me feel very uncoordinated.. but then I am not into much yoga– but given her style of teaching, I could become a yogaphile!!
For other beginners who want to get started with a workout program that’s more about cardio and burning calories, Petra Kolber has a great video workout for you, Cardio for Beginners. .

This DVD has 4 different workouts plus a bonus clip that allows you to choose the kind of workout and intensity. I have followed Petra Kolber for a long time and her workouts are fun, easy to follow and helps you burn calories while you get into the groove with her choreography.

This one can be customized by just following her program or cranking up the intensity by putting a little more effort into the grapevines, punches and other moves. It’s your choice! The music is fun, Petra’s teaching methods are spot-on and she’s one I would highly recommend for those who don’t have time to get cardio in their routine.

Core Fusion practice is a transformational fitness class that melds Lotte Berk Method, core conditioning, Pilates, and yoga to help you reach your fitness goals fast. Developed by Fred DeVito and Elisabeth Halfpapp, the Core Fusion program is available on DVD and has released at least 2 more DVDS to the collection, each running about $16-$17.

Lean & Toned is a great workout. This is more like a real Core Fusion class with other people in the background providing modification for beginners, Elizabeth and Fred take you on serious journey into workout that is both fun and extremely functional. Done in 10 minute segments, you can work glutes, thighs, abs and do the infamous pretzel for toning and scultping your body. This is my favorite workout video of the moment because I like the “class” effect and I like that 10 minutes can really give me something serious in terms of a workout and I can mix and match it with other DVDs in their series.

The other DVD from Core Fusion is Arms and Abs. .

This one features just Fred and Elizabeth with more voice-over cueing that’s absolutely perfect– and reflects much more of their personality. Love it!! It’s fun and it reflects that while you are working hard — they are too. This particular video focuses strictly on arm and ab work with weights and resistance bands. (band is included with the dvd!)

For those who might have felt they didn’t quite nail down the ab work in previous videos, the band will help you and also get you into greater shape faster! It’s precision-based workout that really helps you focus on your abs a great deal which is the key to good posture. It’s definitely helped me. The arm stuff– wow! Talk about great arm & shoulder workouts. Be prepared for looking buff– and just in time for summer.
This would be a great workout for anyone– even guys would find this challenging. Whether for yourself or a gift for Mother’s day or even brides nervous about getting into wedding dresses or anyone worried about looking good in swimwear– this series will have you looking great. Just start doing their 10 minute segments.
