After much searching and a few wrong turns in finding it, we finally found the Koloa Rum Company. It had not been in any of the guidebooks I had found– but that’s because the company is only 8 months old –ditto the rum itself– and it’s definitely burning up the international scene with its’ unique presentation of rum.
This lovely company has a white, gold and dark rum –all made with ingredients from Kauai. So it’s special to this island and you can only buy it on this island to take with you. You cannot order it online– or at least not yet.
We found the tasting room behind Gaylord’s mansion on these huge grounds where you can have a genuine vintage train ride and even find a pottery studio..
