Fashion’s Night Out: LA!! We Got You Covered with What’s Hot in Fashion Capitals!

I know that every blogger, fashion writer and journo has been bombarded with Fashion Night Out invites– I got at least 12 from the east coast alone. Given the that LA Times Image section gave such a great compendium list of what’s cooking by area for Friday’s event, I am mixing my list with theirs After all, it’s now a Southern California event spreading down to South Coast Plaza and Fashion Island with all sorts of cool events. This event started last year and really picked up serious steam this year with some encouragement from Vogue magazine and the Council of Fashion Designers of America,

For the OC: Fashion Island
Fashion Island is the only location in Orange County celebrating, and will be doing it in style with reality celebrity Lo Bosworth making an appearance. Shoppers can win a Personal Styling Session and $1,000 gift card to Fashion Island (. There are also custom tote bag giveaways, numerous in-store events, a DJ, refreshments and more. Visitors to Neiman Marcus can even enter the store through Maison Francis Kurkdjian-scented bubbles and meet the fragrance co-founder Marc Chaya as he imbues Fashion Island’s new granite obelisk fountain in the Courtyard with his latest scent.
Visit www.shopfashionisland.com/fno for more information on this great event.

Here’s my pick list for LA

Start checking out events in Downtown LA and work your way west– though the traffic might be doing the same. The Shop on Wheels is a shipping truck converted into a sleek Cynthia Rowley store, with hardwood floors, a fitting room, printed-fabric wall coverings and Lucite fixtures. It carries the entire range of items in the Cynthia Rowley collection, including women’s clothing, shoes, bags, eyewear, jewelry, legwear, gifts and more.
Shoppers can pose for photo ops with the truck and view the shots later on the official Facebook page (“CynthiaRowley MobileShop”) and follow the mobile shop Twitter (“CRowleyonwheels”).
