Shopping the Village at the Women’s Conference 2010

One of the most fun parts of the Women’s Conference is shopping through the Village. Virtually every brand you saw on all these videos & blogs were part of the village. Some brands I spoke to last year were missing. Some were there but unavailable to speak to me, still others were virtually speechless!

Seeing Barbie as a newscaster — and being speechless seemed oxymoronic. At least I am sharing the microphone with her, though I seem to be missing the stilettos. (A friend pointed that out to me!! Ladies, can I tell you that spending more than 8 hours walking the hard concrete across the village and convention –learned the hard way for the last two years– is not a fun thing to do– unless your hotel is right around the corner. Mine was not).

Don’t even think shoes weren’t available. Fashion was highly prevalent in terms of clothing: dressy, casual, and athletic. Browns Shoes Naturalizer brand was there as they had been for the last 3-4 years and they were PACKED!!

This was the slow moment at the Naturalizer booth. They were kind enough to give me a catalog. I could have bought shoes there — but then I would have to schlep them around. (hard to do videos if you are carrying shoes or boots) . I used the catalog and ordered a pair of Oxfords– with a discount code no less. Made the buying experience online that much sweeter!!

Lots of beauty brands were around too. Too many to list but here is one that I don’t often see around: Votre Vu

Lots of interesting products here– and some lovely things I wanted to take home but how much more can a girl carry? There was an incredible array of books. Safeway, Target, Verizon, lots of techy gadgets and the most interesting thing, an improvement in the way mammography can be done so that you have a better than 60% increase in finding tumors sooner, earlier. More about that after I get the inventor on the phone.

Also one last video to come– and that’s with Staff Sargeant Alicia Watkins!!
