Valentine’s Day Treats: 185 Chocolat Takes You to Chocolate Heaven!
Heidi Ash is the “heart” and soul behind 185 Chocolat.
It’s one of the most unique chocolate brands I have had the honor and privilege to review. Don’t get me wrong– every single one of them has been amazing. Each has its’ own personality– much like the person creating it.
Heidi Ash adds a little something else into her mix of glorious chocolat– and I do mean GLORIOUS.
The goal of 185Chocolat is to make the world more beautiful through chocolate. Each piece is hand-painted, they “edible art”. Based in Minnesota, Heidi Ash braves incredible cold and I had a chance to talk to her on the phone as well as exchange a few emails to get the details on this most incredible brand.
All Truffles are made with Valrhone chocolate, organic cream, and the finest ingredients. Preservatives and corn syrup are not used so only the purity of the flavors and creamy texture will shine through.
She sent me this uniquely designed box and it was textured pink half-dome box which was filled with chocolates. I didn’t even read the list she had pasted on the inside of the box. I just picked one- popped the entire thing in my mouth and almost gasped.
Sinfully delicious, the chocolate hits the tongue and the flavor just explodes. It’s a great chocolate and this one happened to be the Expresso Roast.
Combining two palate pleasers under white swirls, Espresso Roast will wake your taste with creamy chocolate and coffee richness and it is made with organic coffee.
The actual taste of this burst forth and it was incredibly intoxicating. Everything in this box was beyond expectations. I expect artisanal chocolate to have a fabulous presentation. This one was worth freezing so that no one would steal it so that I would have time (along with a couple other people) to test this out. It is worth every dime you pay for this — and it’s a bargain.
Caramel Knowledge~ A burst of sweet salt caramel that you must place entire piece in mouth for full “Knowledge”. This one happens to be the most sinful and luxurious taste– and it is beyond words. It’s a feeling that you get when this dissolves on the tongue and you taste chocolate, salt and caramel of such quality that you are sighing with extreme pleasure.
Raspberry Silk~ Inside the delicate single origin chocolate shell a raspberry and chocolate ganache can hardly wait to delight.
Triple Chocolate~ Outside is a single origin chocolate. The first layer is a creamy milk chocolate that has been kissed by French Lavender honey followed by a dark chocolate ganache, which dances with a regional honey.
Why 185Chocolat? Here’s the story from Heidi Ash– and part of the reason I am so impressed with HER as well as her product.
I was the 185th recipient of a heart transplant at the Mayo Clinic. The transplant was a joyous event in my life. It allowed me to follow my dream, creating chocolates. Chocolates are my passion.
185Chocolat is a blissful celebration, just like life ought to be.
