Who Said Water Was ONLY in Lakes? Assorted Photos!!

This was a wild way to wind up this trip. It was truly crazy. I had a few things going on and we did wind it up in amazing fashion.. with despite some surprising weather, we also had a couple of visitors from Canada and Massachusetts.

On Monday, 7/25, we went out to Ithaca. I had never been there before so we did some shopping at the Commons. I did get an amazing score. (more about that in another post).Thank you D for the “find”.

Here’s one direction of the Ithaca Commons (the area surrounding Cornell University).

This is the other direction of Ithaca Commons. We must have visited every store– but we started out at vintage and used clothing store, Trader K!!

We covered a lot of stores but bought nothing. Then we walked through a parking structure and then to Urban Outfitters across the street. This is what happened there.

Eventually the rain stopped pouring, I found a dress and L found some cool accessories and we headed back to our side of the finger lakes. We stopped at Aneylas, a local winery where we had 5 wine tastes for $2 each, and then we sat down with a cheese platter snack/lunch that came with a glass of wine for each of us. Wow.. talk about great view, wine and food paired up together.

That night we hit the fresh vegetable stand and bought a ton of fresh corn!!

The next day we were going out with friends on the lake. However things were delayed a bit- by this!

So while we waited for the weather to simmer down, we sat around eating another cheese tray and drinking some mojitos!!Finally the weather cooperated and we headed to the water and were out for about 3 hours. The wind picked up and we headed back to the docks fast.

That night we went out to Daut’s in Auburn

This restaurant is an institution. On Mondays, it’s a full prime rib dinner for $14.00!! What a steal of a deal! We drove the Miata and I got to drive back (woohoo!! let her rip on the open highway!)

Here’s a snaps of the home entertainment toys D has around to keep people amused.

This is MOUSE, the sweetest cat I have ever seen– and D has 4 I think (I lost count). Mouse is unique. Great coloring, soft, purrs on command and likes to play!!

Mouse likes to play so much that she “fetches” toys. You toss them, she will bring them back. That was my duty– to keep her amused. We had fun. Such a sweet kitten!
