Celebrity Jeweler & Watchmaker Chopard Re-Opens Boutique in South Coast Plaza

South Coast Plaza (the OC’s premiere shopping destination) is the location for high-end jewelry fan and celebrities for the official boutique re-opening of couture jeweler Chopard boutique that Chopard USA President and CEO Marc Hruschka, along with Henry and Elizabeth Segerstrom, will host the grand reopening cocktail reception to benefit the Philharmonic Society of Orange County, today Nov. 15. The event will provide VIP customers and media a first-look at the extraordinary boutique and collections, while being treated to the musical stylings of super duo DJ Mia Moretti and electric violinist, Caitlin Moe.

“The re-opening of our South Coast Plaza boutique promises to be a grand affair, following the example set by the unprecedented celebrations for our 150th anniversary last year,” said Hruschka. “We strive to make the world a more beautiful place, not only through the creation of our incredible collections and by building this remarkable store, but also through our dedicated support to helping the arts flourish in communities around the world.”

Guests will experience the heritage of ultimate luxury with an exclusive tour of the boutique,venjoying a private shopping experience while benefiting an excellent cause. Chopard is donating 20 percent of purchases to benefit the philharmonic’s music education program the entire week;
Nov. 15 through Nov. 22, 2011.

Every detail of the new boutique is the vision of Chopard Co-President and creative heartbeat, Caroline Scheufele. Renowned architect Thierry W. Despont carried out the boutique commission with unprecedented impact by using state-of-the-art technology. Based on his idea that Chopard represents a blend of century-old family tradition and high-tech creations, he modeled the new boutique as an eco-friendly spectacular where the drama of diamonds and the fine art of watch making can be experienced by Southern California clientele.

Noted Caroline Scheufele, “In 2007, I asked architect Thierry Despont to create a new design
for the Chopard boutiques, beginning with our flagship store on Madison Avenue. We worked very closely
on the concept in order to keep the atmosphere of our boutiques warm and homey with luxurious and
sensuous fabrics, welcoming wooden floors, wood panelling and, often, a fireplace. When our clients
enter a Chopard Boutique, I want them to feel as if they were entering a refined and gracious home.”

All of the furnishings, including tables, lighting and vitrines were created and developed especially for Chopard. Defined areas for high jewelry, high-end watches and accessory collections allow for both
private and casual browsing. Also, a welcoming in-house customer service team is available to cater to a client’s every need.

Scheufele added, “The United States is a very important market for Chopard. I am very pleased to reopen our Costa Mesa Boutique, the first on the West Coast bearing the new design.”

The newly renovated and expanded boutique brings a tradition of elegance to South Coast Plaza – color
and light shine through every corner, emulating the style and sophistication of the Southern California
community that is so graciously welcoming Chopard.
