Here are some exclusive excerpts for you from Tory’s presentation speech:
“I personally don’t wear any designer head-to-toe, including Tory Burch. It’s much more interesting to mix it up. I have the same philosophy when it comes to our blog.”
– “Off-the-cuff moments are the most powerful.”
– “We choose to be an open brand. This means being able to accept the good with the bad, being able to handle criticism in a very, very public forum.”
Personally I have interviewed Tory Burch before at least once. I have also worked with her organization both as an online publisher and as a fashion editor for several outlets including my last one for a California regional publication.
Her style is distinctive; her business plan underscores that distinctiveness while being financially savvy and smart about consumer outreach. Her staff has always be responsive to the press and to consumers — and informing Tory of the reactions to her collections.
So don’t miss this opportunity to “engage” or participate in this webcast. It’s an innovation for Fairchild and I would like to see them do more like this. Aspiring designer, retailers and innovators could benefit from more webcasts like this and also get more from various speakers on tap for various Fairchild events– especially WWD.
Thank you to Dan Scheffey, Director of Communications, Fairchild Fashion Media for his outreach.
