Chocolate, Treats, Cookies & Desserts. Haute Sweets for Holidays! Part 3

Vosswinkle Cookie Company might have a corner on the broad shortbread cookie market with their unique presentation of cookies.

These handshaped cookies are shaped like fruits or vegetables and have great colors that highlight the shapes. Their exquisitely flavored butter cookies are highlighted by the flavor of their shape: peach cookies with fresh Georgia Peach flavor; Apple Cobbler or Bing Cherries– or whatever the fruit is. Each cookie in the “Fruits of the Spirit” product line uses the finest quality flavoring oils to make them taste as good as they look.
The vegetable cookies have my attention because they call them the “Salad for the Soul” product line. Each vegetable has a great dessert flavor. YUMMY Cheesecake ‘Carrots’, Crème Brùlée ‘Leeks’, Butter Rum ‘Peas’ Amaretto Tomatoes and a lot more. (This puts a new spin on eating your veggies, doesn’t it?) It’s very difficult to stop with just one and after 4 you are definitely addicted!

Their Snowflake collection is available in 12 ($24.95 or 26 ($44.95)count cookies that come in an array of seasonal tins. These 3-dimensional artisan-crafted fruit and vegetable shaped shortbread cookies that are exquisitely flavored and complimented with airbrushed highlights and leaves or stems for unmatched realism.

Stella Leona Artisan Chocolates is an amazing line of chocolates and treats. The array of the product line expands beyond chocolates into pastries and other sweet treats.

The Heritage Collection of chocolates is a tribute to Estella Short and Leona Short Sauder, the sisters who inspired the company name: both talented bakers whose delicious pies graced the tables of many family gatherings. Their old fashioned pies were the inspiration for our Heritage Collection. Each box comes with the Heritage story card and holds an assortment of 7 pieces of these pie flavors: Old Fashioned Cream, Blueberry, Rhubarb and Pecan Pie.

Whether or not you like pie has nothing to do with it, these small morsels pop easily into your mouth and are sinful in their presentation and in the eating equally. Their truffles are amazing in their hand-crafted presentation as well. The hand-painted chocolates shown below are just a smidge of the selection of truffles and chocolates from Stella Leona.

The flavors include Key Lime, Raspberry Dark, Orange Milk, and Banana Cream Cheesecake in pre-set combinations or your choice of 12 pieces. Definitely worth a taste test or a gifting to someone you care about- these are serious chocolatiers!

Sassy Sweet Treats is just what the name says: sweet treats with an attitude that won’t allow you to stop.

The cookies and brownies are luscious! Six different choices of cookies make it hard to choose just one type. The brownies come in blondies or brownies so that you caught up in the choices there as well. Yummy treats that you will definitely want to have on your holiday table or make a great gift

Your choice in the gift tin department makes it hard which flavors and how many cookies and/or brownies to gift.

Brownies or Blondies? Which to choose? Choose both!!

I am loving this insanely great brand for having some awesome presentations that I cut it down only to keep it brief and allow you the opportunity to get into the cool site and noodle around to find the things you want to buy!

Here are my favorites that I would definitely try from Chocolats du Cali-Bressan

Bisous (kisses) (Bon-bons)

Sapin or the hand-painted tree. I like to think of this as a Christmas Tree.

Balsamic Vinegar Caramel sounds absolutely killer.

The last brand might seem a bit out of place but it’s not really. MARS (yes the brand that brought you Three Musketeers, Milky Way and Snickers) has this truly unique chocolate brand/collection that is more historical in nature. American Heritage Chocolate recipe dates back to the colonial days.

The recipe of this current presentation is authentic to the original style of how chocolate was made and the ways it was served to the colonial citizens of the time–which means it was spicy.

American Heritage Chocolate is based on historic recipes which included spices such as cinnamon, nutmeg, anise, annatto, red pepper, orange, salt and vanilla. The level of each spice in the recipe was critical in creating a balanced and desirable flavor

You can buy these “heritage” products

Finely Grated Chocolate Drink,

or multi-pack of Chocolate Sticks in a Muslin Bag.

You can mix them with these other beverages sold on the site

With the block chocolate, it makes for great topping as a shaving for various desserts. The chocolate drink mix with its’ spices would be great with whipped cream or get gutsy and add some liqueur (chocolate, raspberry, limoncello,) or spirits (rum or tequila make good choices) to the drink.

Where to buy: Find it online or in stores listed on this page
This is not sold in every state so pick up the phone and see what you can order!!

Happy holidays and this is the end desserts and treats for holiday 2011!
