Recently I was invited to the grand opening party of an M. Fredric store in Plaza in El Segundo
M. Fredric is a family business and the stores have spread across the San Fernando Valley to Marina del Rey and now into El Segundo (virtually a block from Manhattan Beach).
The Heart & Soul of M. Fredric
The company is helmed by Fred Levine, Lisa Levine and Mardi Fox. This husband, wife and sister team is the driving force behind the success. While possessing diverse roles in the company, they collaborate to ensure the decor, quality and service are unparalleled.
Fred Levine started M. Fredric in 1980 based on his knowledge and experience as an attorney representing high profile members of the apparel retail industry. He not only serves as the Buyer for the MAN stores, he plays an active role in Women’s buying and is the mastermind behind the operations, business development and acquisition of real estate.
Lisa Levine began her professional career in the apparel retail industry and acts as the Buyer for the Women stores. Her keen sense of fashion and merchandising serve as the necessary guide to ensuring that M. Fredric is always on the pulse of what’s hot and not. She plays an active role in the hiring process, making sure the vision and goals of the company are understood and executed.
Mardi Fox Fred’s sister Mardi is the “M” in M. Fredric and is the Kids Buyer and Division head. Mardi’s professional experience was also developed in the retail apparel industry. Her edgy sense of style and appreciation for out-of-the-box children’s fashion has created a boutique for newborns to pre-teens that is both hip and practical.

M. Fredric is located in Plaza El Segundo towards the back of the Plaza in the area called The EDGE which is an apt location. It’s also next door to and across the street from several restaurants as well as plenty of parking.
