SciFi Thriller “The Darkest Hour” Hits Blu-ray & DVD!

I had seen a number of trailers for The Darkest Hour and it looked interesting for a sci-fi flick that has echoes of others that are about total decimation of the earth due to alien invasion.

The most interesting part about this movie is that it’s set in Russia and 2 tech-head/geeks who are launching a phase of a start-up there and the results of that (which is worth the price of admission alone to teach you why you have to be cautious about start-ups in foreign countries, NDA’s and other related details) happens in the first 15 minutes. After that sets up the reason why these two guys are in Moscow, it all changes because of the alien invasion who are basically electrical impulses. Think of “V” meets “Transformers” without real bodies and sans a ton of CGI. (saved lots of bucks on that CGI. However, the movie does play this game a bit differently since key roles are killed off at different intervals and in ways that you would not think would happen. this movie is 88 minutes and feels like a lot longer. The weirdest thing is that I think they ought to ask you to sign an NDA before seeing it because it is a compilation of many different flicks and TV shows.
