It’s Memorial Day weekend which kicks off the summer! No matter where you are there will be sun exposure of some sort.. even if it’s overcast. This is the time to stock up on sunscreen. Dr. Gervais Gerstner, a well-known dermatologist, is giving us tips and the new FDA regulations!
Find L’Oreal Sublime Sun at online and brick and mortar drugstores, mass merchants and don’t forget to reapply at least twice a day. Or test out other brands of sunscreens that you feel would suit your needs.
Thank you to Dr Gerstner for her great tips. Also do see your derm at least once a year for a body check or if you find any suspicious spots.
I found one on my right leg last year and my derm was concerned enough to biopsy it. Lucky for me, it came back negative. A month later, another spot popped up on my left leg almost identical to the one from my right leg. I went back to my doctor and while he thought it wasn’t anything to worry about, he played it safe and biopsied it. Wow!! I was surprised that it came back positive for basel cell carcinoma. I went in and had it removed. I look at odd spots and it’s worth it to be safe to see my doctor to have it checked out.
