Who said social media couldn’t make things happen? You just have to know how to work it. Keryl Pesce knew that after writing her book Happy Bitch her life would change. She just didn’t know in quite the direction in which it would take off.
Debbie Gioquindo, the Hudson Valley Wine Goddess, didn’t realize that her blog would eventually be her ticket to being happy in what she did with her life either. She used it to talk about the wines of New York.
Here’s the story in a nutshell– straight from the website:
Social media, in particular, Twitter, led to the creation of the wine. When Keryl Pesce, author of Happy Bitch, tweeted about possibly creating a Happy Bitch wine, Debbie Gioquindo, Hudson Valley Wine Goddess, tweeted back that she should make it a Hudson Valley Wine. No surprise, as Debbie’s blog educates readers about wine with a focus on the Hudson Valley region. The two agreed to meet, not realizing that a tweet and a cup of coffee were actually a partnership in the making.
Keryl is in the business of happy. Debbie is in the business of wine and marketing. Put the two together and you’ve got a force to be reckoned with – a perfect “blend” (OK, pun intended) to create a fun wine geared toward women.
I had the opportunity to talk to Debbie Gioquindo very recently and worked like a fiend to get this blog UP so that you could head out to Watson Glen if you are in the NE today or tomorrow (that’s 7/14 & 7/15) for a wine festival at which they are appearing for the first time as Happy Bitch Wine owners!
The best part of this podcast is that these two women have bonded in such a complimentary way and are working together to promote a brand and a lifestyle and a whole lot more “happy bitch” philosophy and attitude out there. Got to love that!!
