Check Out the Scene– and Sunglasses — at the US Open of Surfing in Huntington Beach!

While you were watching the Olympics, there was another major sporting event that had serious spots cred running here in California. Surf City AKA Huntington Beach held the annual US Open of Surfing here and the place was packed. You would swear there was no such thing as the Olympics going on. Go figure that one out– but there were tons of people on the beach.

Fortunately I had a spy at the Bureau of Missing Sunglasses taking photos for me of the ambiance, the people, and — most importantly- sunglasses at the event.

Here’s a slide show courtesy of the Vision Council to show you what the hot trends are for sunglasses are for late summer. While you might think basic black is still great, you might want to think again because color makes some serious POP.
