Top 10 Excuses Fitness Trainers Hear from Clients Courtesy of Planet Shark Fitness’ Sally Hughes

Got to love Planet Shark Fitness. She’s doing gangbusters on being a fitness pro and social media expert. For as much time as we spend working the social media aspect, she has me rolling on the floor laughing about her work as a fitness pro. However she gives me great tips and actually challenges me to take my workouts to the next level. Got to love that– because eventually I do.

Here’s @PlanetSharkFit‘s latest column!!
1. My dog ate my training gloves (can’t make it today). (For those with kids or L O N G memories, this should sound familiar however dogs do like leathery sweaty things to chew on!)

2. Whaddaya mean there isn’t any fruit in Fruity Pebbles?!! (Hello! Of course there’s fruit in it! Look at its NAME!).

3. I ate really clean today … Well, except for my breakfast of Fruity Pebbles; lunch at McDonald’s and dinner at Papa’s Country Buffet (which specializes in omega-rich fried catfish by the way– making me exempt from ALL ab work today, right?).

4. The last time I ‘felt the burn’ I was simultaneously flambeeing cherries for my ice cream while eating fondue (Oh, sh*t! Was that audible? And did my trainer hear it? … Uh oh … Double sh*t! … YOU ARE MY TRAINER!).

5. Regarding #4, at least cherries are REAL fruit– and I’m doing better since I added coconut water to my Fruity Pebbles, right? (like ummm … as opposed to errrrr … beer or whiskey?).

6. My dog ate my food diary (can’t make it today).

7. Ok. So if my fork FALLS and I pick it up and eat whatever the h*ll I want – yet no one is there to hear it (or better yet – see it) did I really eat all that? Me thinks H*LL NO!

8. If #7 makes me wanna eat an entire box of Fruity Pebbles, does that make me a bad person or just pretty good at puns? (dang, I’m hungry and so is my dog! – can’t make it today).

9. Of course I did my cardio … if you look at it like a rodeo where they drive cows in circles anyhow. Because I drove my car in circles at Costco trying to find the closest spot so I could buy my bulk Fruity Pebbles … I mean bulk cherries! In any event, it’s called CAR-dio for a reason and I did it for at least an hour!

10. Can’t make it today because as it turns out … my dog ate my very last Fruity Pebbles and had to go to the vet for gastric surgery whereby my food diary and training gloves FINALLY surfaced in his belly … Go figure. (Did I mention I can’t make it today?).

But enough about my clients – What’s YOUR excuse for not making it to the gym today – with or without your trainer?
