For Last Minute Shoppers: Great Ideas that Might Arrive Later or On Time but Make Great Gifts!

It’s the LAST shopping day of the year– Christmas is almost here. While there will be places like drugstores that will be open (and you can find an array of gift cards and gifts within drugstores), I am talking about things that those stores generally won’t have for someone important on your list. However that said, DO walk around these stores that are open (even a Starbucks or a restaurant can sell you gift cards for meals or drinks. Starbucks has their own coffee maker– along with their limited edition Christmas blend coffee!)

Here are some things that I think a fabulous, amazing gifts (and maybe they have been mentioned before but there’s a reason why they are here. )

1) Health conscious and fitness peeps: Check out Intelliskin top. Whether you have bad posture, looking to improve your workouts or stop slouching over the computer, this top/shirt will make a HUGE difference in how you look, feel and perform!

IntelliSkin is a performance apparel company focused on improving posture and alignment for enhanced well-being. We design and develop distinctive garments that have been proven to enhance posture and athletic performance. The IntelliSkin concept was developed by Dr. Tim Brown, a leading sports medicine professional, after more than 30 years treating some of the world’s elite athletes and working with leading health care professionals

Zipper Collection — but there are pull-over and other styles in various colors, designs and sleeve lengths based on your personal needs.

Think about this when you are playing golf, tennis, running, lifting weights, pilates, rowing or any other sport– it will make a difference in your posture and your performance. While not inexpensive, you can give a gift card or order the piece that you think the person might use. I have one and I SWEAR by it. It helps me in pilates, lifting weights– particularly the 20 pound weights I have been lifting (that’s 20 pounds each.. not total). The improvement in my posture makes my body work more efficiently and I sleep, walk and look better.
Worth the bucks– it’s a great gift.

ROCQ Macarons

Rocq Macarons are probably the gift best given AFTER the holiday — when no one else is around and there would be less sharing involved in this luxury taste treat. Macarons are delicate French pastry cookies that are created by the chef of Catherine de Medici in 1533. The first Macarons were simple cookies, made of almond powder, sugar and egg whites. It wasn’t’ until the 20th century when French pastry chefs decided to join two macaron shells together and fill them up with buttercream, jams and ganache.

These delectable creations come in a variety of flavors– of which I got a box to try. If you want to have them for a long time, stick them in the freezer and HIDE THEM! They will defrost just fine. They are crispy delicate cookies with an array of delicate, delish flavors and the fillings are to die for!

Choose your collection and make sure that the person knows that something special in the food is coming and to treat it carefully. YUMMY!!

Holiday Collection. Might not be available but any collection is worth it!

ROCQ Macarons

For the girl with a love of manicures and/or pedicures: Gift her with a luxe version and don’t forget to include a couple of bottles of polish. A place to try would be Bellacures which is hands down the BEST place I have EVER had a pedicure — and it lasted 8 weeks even with the extra design painted on my toes. *(NO LIE)Brand suggestion: ZOYA— so you can buy the entire collection in a cream or dazzling collection of sparkling colors. IT was the color I brought with me to the Bellacures pedicure and I was so glad I did. It’s beautiful and the color lasted amazingly well.

For the guy who could use some great grooming stuff, check out the line from the Blind Barber. Based out of NYC, you can give him a GREAT shave cream that does triple duty– this BLIND BARBER Wild Watermint Gin After Shave does a lot for the price tag– though there are other products within the Blind Barber line. Available through the website and beauty.com, it’s an easy gift to give that will keep on giving!!

For the beauty/grooming junkie– guy or girl– there’a a GREAT gift that will give ALL YEAR. Spaphile is an exclusive membership card program that gets you members-only pricing at spas and salons, VIP invitations to upscale beauty events and eligible for free spa products and services.

follow Spaphile on their blog, on facebook and on twitter.

What does this mean for the recipient? Spaphile has curated the BEST of the best spas and salons for amazing treatments. There are discounts that accompany the card and sometimes there are treatments that are FREE!!! WOW– way cool! Add in free products, special VIP invites to upscale beauty events– what’s not to love?
The price tag is only $79 and when you add up the cost of 3-5 manicures or pedicures or other spa treatments, that could saved within those 5 treatments (or less!)
So do something nice for the grooming junkie in your life.

For those who seek to find great scents– and this includes men especially — you need to gift them something that’s just not “off the shelf” from some department store or mass market store UNLESS you know that they want that specific scent. Hit Indiescents.com or Luckyscents.com and buy them a sample pack of some fragrances and maybe pop some extra $$ into the gift for a GC that can be used towards a purchase.

The coolest thing out from Luckyscent.com is the Decennial — 10 year anniversary collection that has amazing scents: one from Andy Tauer that blew me away and the Bois Bourbon– perfect for a guy but a woman can rock it too– because it’s smokey, boozey, sexy vibe. (just my kind of scent). For Indiescent.com, check out Dawn Spencer Hurwitz latest holiday collection and also my friend Brent Leonesio’s collection, Smell Bent
www.luckyscent.com indiescent.com .
There is nothing I love to talk about more than fragrance (except fashion, music, cocktails and stuff like. OK OK. I talk too much. Sue me. I give you great advice!)
