Sonnet Sits Down for an Interview Before Her Acoustic Performance at Saint Rocke’s in Hermosa Beach!

You might remember that I covered Sonnet , a singer/songwriter back a few weeks ago. While you might not have heard OF her you most likely heard her voice! She’s the first-ever gorgeous voice profiled on Overstock.com and singing “O is the One”— one of 3 commercials that she did for the site.

Sonnet, whose name is derived from the Italian word, “sonetto” meaning a “little song” or “little sound,” delivers a fresh perspective or feel of pop, illuminated with pulsating electronic beats and themes that connect across emotional lines and frame her eight-song debut.

Recently she was scheduled for a gig down in near my ‘hood, at Saint Rocke’s in Hermosa Beach and I got a chance to talk to her before the show!

Also here’s something you NEED to hear: Sonnet’s amazing holiday song that’s GORGEOUS!!

“For me, the holidays are all about family. I have such fond memories attached to this time of year,” said Sonnet. “Life is typically so hectic but the holidays are a time of joyful celebration, a time when things just seem to slow down and we can enjoy time with family and friends,” she continued. “Singing has always been such a big part of our family festivities and I wanted to share one of my favorite Christmas carols with my fans”.

With the help of long-time collaborator and producer, Ali Noori, she chose to record “Carol Of The Bells”, a traditional carol filled with warm, rich harmonies. Together they experimented with sounds and arrangements, injecting Sonnet’s soulful, breathy vocal and putting a slightly modern twist on a Christmas classic.
Sonnet’s lead vocal is layered with her harmonies. The song has rhythmic buoyancy that integrates percolating synths and delicate piano as well as tantalizing horns, sprinkled with sparkling bells and soothing cellos.

Sonnet’s version of “Carol Of The Bells” will be a free download until Monday, December 10th at SonnetMusic.com via Pay With a Tweet (a social payment platform where you buy digital goods and pay for them simply by tweeting about the product): http://bit.ly/SntCotB or directly via Pay With a Tweet http://bit.ly/SntPwaT .
