Music Mix: Cool Sounds for Hot Summer! Will Dailey on Stageit + Tour, New Videos from Ashley Allen & Sara Bareilles!

Hot topic here as Will Dailey is putting together a great event for SUNDAY at 4 PM ET on Stageit! Stageit features Will playing in a shower- yes one that gets wet but he won’t be getting wet. (Shocking experience that!) But he will be playing some great tunes!
Why is he doing this? His new album is due to be released on vinyl any day now. The tickets left are few — since he sold out fast the first round, he added more tickets to make this a bigger show. Now there are only 2 tickets left!

If I could tell you one thing, it would be that Noise Trade released “$300 Man: 20 Essential Will Dailey Songs” for free in anticipation for my new album “National Throat”! In this expansive 20 song collection, encompassing my whole career, is the first listen to two new songs from the upcoming album: “Sunken Ship” & “Castle of Pretending”.

Also included is long time live favorite “$300 Dollar Man” available exclusively in this free download! I need your help sharing this free compilation with the world on facebook, twitter, email etc. Can we get to 3000 downloads this week?

If I could tell you two things, it would be that the pledge music campaign has hit 700 pledges! I am stunned and amazed and truly grateful. Fans made this album possible. With the master on the way to pressing the campaign will be closing soon so this is the last opportunity to be involved in the making of my new album.

Now if I had three things… It would be to read the first thing again and hit pledgemusic.com

New Music RADAR: Ashley Allen
__________________

Singer/songwriter Ashley Allen has wrapped the High School Music Tour with Tabo and Drake Bell and now is debuting a new video Body Say No, Heart Say Yes acoustic video to partner with her new EP of the same name! Ashley’s songwriting for this EP is distinctly optimistic, fizzing with life affirming self-reflections, sugary sass, sharp pop hooks, and undeniable beats. On “Body Say No, Heart Say Yes” she’s triumphant over bedridden depression and exhaustion. Well known on the east coast she’s seeking to extend her fanbase across the country!

The Acoustic Video.

“I want to clarify that song is not about a guy! It’s about not being able to get out of bed after a late night,” she says laughing good-naturedly. “Being a college girl, I can’t tell you how many times it would have been easier to stay in bed. But every day you keep on keeping on and live life to the fullest.”

Official Video

After premiering the official video on RyanSeacrest.com, the video has now made its way to the likes of MTV, VH1, and CMT. The video (which includes guest appearances from rapper Shwayze, DJ White Shadow (Lady Gaga), and model Chloe Norgaard), is a vibrant nod to Ashley’s colorful personality and optimistic attitude. When asked about the video, Ashley states, “This video is my heart and soul. It is the definition of who I am and about staying positive in life. I guess it really is a message to stay weird and have fun!”

Ashley’s vibrant artistry is a powerful mix of call-to-arms positive messages, blissful hooks, and uplifting dance floor anthems. Ashley pulls from buoyant pop, moody and mesmerizing EDM, haunting dubstep, and the anthemic sincerity of modern country.

Sara Bareilles New Video- I Choose You!
________________________

Sara Bareilles is known for her anthemic songs — ones that really speak her mind and make an impact. But none of her songs are quite the wistful take on love as her latest song, ” I Want You”
On March 11, Bareilles announced a contest online, inviting fans to share their “#IChooseYou” story.

Let’s celebrate love!! Share your crazy, amazing, tear-worthy engagement plans, and I might help make them a reality!

“I Choose You” is the second single from The Blessed Unrest. The mid-tempo ballad speaks of finding lifelong love, even when at times it seemed unfathomable.

Bareilles and her team picked two couples, Matt and Chelsea in Los Angeles and Aly and Andrea in Denver. Throughout her music video, which was released on Wednesday, the artist sings the song in front of a gray backdrop while clips are shown of the couples and the planning process for the proposals.

Here’s the result! Love the way they interwove the 2 different couples stories into the final edit. This video launched on May 5, 2014.

The song is fabulous and sounds like such a change from the Bareilles that we know on Top 40 Radio. Glad to see that what drove the song was massive change in Bareilles’ own life and moving forward from there.

  1. Thanks for introducing me to Will Dailey. I enjoyed “Castle of Pretending” better than “300 Dollar Man.” Sarah has an amazing voice. I can tell you put much effort into your selections. Publicizing personal tastes makes you vulnerable but from what I’ve heard (not all of it), you made some great choices.

  2. Thanks.. I appreciate it Kevin. I have very eclectic tastes. I met/interviewed Sara Bareilles right after she signed with Epic Records and after she did the first (or second) Hotel Cafe tour .. eons ago.. but she was great then, even better now.
I am very big on music.. it tends to run a bit of my life and allow me to dig into the emotional essence of musicians by listening over and over again. I have interview so many musicians that it takes time for me to do it– and give the emotional availability to the music and musician . Sometimes it’s very thought provoking. The choices are such that I must share because specific songs or in Will’s case.. albums are really worth hearing. Check out his single: Bipolar Baby. VERY much on target. He’s a fabulous musician and a great guy.
