Hot tips from various people lead me to write this post. UniqueLA is one of my most favorite LA events. It doesn’t happen every month but it’s worth the cash for the ticket and the parking at the California Mart to get you in the door to meet designers and artists with their fashion lines, home decor displays and products as well as food and other cool stuff that you can buy.. and ALL are made in the USA!
Courtesy of NYC friends, rising star band Air Traffic Controller is playing along with two other bands on the bill at Bootleg HiFi in LA! These are two amazing events that you should go see. Just see one if you have to choose but there is enough time between the two in order to do both!

Who: “One of Boston’s finest independent bands” (WERS), Air Traffic Controller had a track named “The Best Indie Alternative Song” by the Independent Music Awards, was placed on NPR’s Hot 100 list for SXSW, and was named “Band of the Day” by The Guardian UK
What: Co-headlining tour with The Tragic Thrills to build support for their forthcoming 3rd album and the new single, “The House”, produced by Bleu (Hanson, Boys Like Girls, Jonas Brothers)

Serving in the US Navy as a real-life air traffic controller, singer/songwriter Dave Munro sent home 4-track demos he had written and recorded during his deployment. One song reached producer/artist Bleu, and when Munro returned to his hometown of Boston, the aptly-named rock band Air Traffic Controller was born. The band’s debut album, NORDO, was produced by Bleu. After the band’s duet “You Know Me” shot to #1 on Hype Machine, they quickly started earning coverage for the song on AOL Spinner, NPR, FILTER, Boston Phoenix, Pop Matters and blogs like College Beats, Ryan’s Smashing Life, Eargasm and Wounded Jukebox. The song has been featured in official blogs on Spotify, Grooveshark and has had over 140k listens on SoundCloud.
