Over 18,000 LED bulbs will light up the World’s Tallest Live-Cut Tree on Saturday, Nov. 5 during the grand finale of Citadel Outlet’s 15th Annual Tree Lighting Concert. The free concert is a family-friendly holiday tradition and this year’s line-up of on-the-rise artists is expected to draw an estimated fifteen thousand attendees.
“Now in its 15th year, the excitement and anticipation building up to the concert has never been higher,” said Traci Markel, Marketing Director. “From offering the chance to see talent that will soon be on billboard charts to celebrating with world-record holding decorations, we hope to create a magical experience that you can’t find anywhere else.”
The 2016 concert will run from 4PM-7PM and will be hosted by celebrity guest Brian Justin Crum, known best for his Broadway-caliber performances on the 11th season of America’s Got Talent.
In addition to headliner Olivia Holt – the star of hit Disney Channel XD series ‘Kickin’ It’ – attendees will also have the opportunity to enjoy performances by Before You Exit and John Lindahl.
Each year, dreams are made and soon-to-be international pop stars discovered on the Citadel Outlets stage. The annual event serves as a first-look opportunity for thousands of L.A. residents and eager holiday shoppers to get up close and personal with performers that will soon be played on pop charts and top countdowns around the world. Previous headline performers include Sabrina Carpenter & Laura Marano (2015), Christina Grimmie (2014), Jesse McCartney (2013), Ariana Grande (2012), Big Time Rush (2010), Justin Bieber (2009), Ashley Tisdale (2009), Demi Lovato (2008) and more.
The concert closes with a center-wide countdown to the lighting of the 115-foot World’s Tallest Live-Cut Tree. Sourced from the Shasta-Trinity National Forest, the tree stands more than 40 feet taller than the average Rockefeller Christmas Tree in New York City. Near the end of its lifespan, this tree is part of an important forest manicuring process and 12 young, budding trees were planted in its place.
Additional information about the performing artists is included below:
Olivia Holt is no stranger to the spotlight. The 18-year-old singer and actress starred in Disney series ‘I Didn’t Do It’ and ‘Kickin’ It,’ as well as the Disney Channel Original Movie ‘Girl vs. Monster’. Holt’s hit song ‘Carry On’ was featured in the Disneynature film “Bears” and has garnered over 19 million views on VEVO.
This year, Holt will continue to act and sing, starring alongside Renée Zellweger and Greg Kinnear in “Same Kind of Different As Me,” and indie comedy “Class Rank,” directed by Eric Stoltz, as well as release a highly anticipated debut album with Hollywood Records.
BEFORE YOU EXIT
This American pop rock band is made up of three brothers – Connor, Riley and Toby McDonough. In 2014, the band competed in and won the annual Macy’s iHeartRadio Rising Star contest, resulting in a slot at the iHeartRadio Music Festival and performance on a Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade float. In 2015, the band secured a record deal with RCA Records and released their hit single ‘Model’. Before You Exit has toured the country with incredible talents including girl group Fifth Harmony and was on tour with late Christina Grimmie at the time of her tragic passing.
Lindahl – a former X-Factor Season 1 contestant – is regarded by many as the ‘next Justin Bieber’. At the age of 17, Lindahl secured a record deal with Epic Records. In recent months, this up-and-coming performer has been busy touring across the country and recording a debut album under the guidance of the legendary Justin Timberlake.
