I love to see unique hairstyles on celebrities. It’s a great inspiration that gives me some ideas on how to do my own hair. I loved the style on Katherine Langford and I feel it would definitely work for summer too!
Katherine Langford is wearing a gorgeous black cocktail dress accented with all-over embellishment and a velvet crystal belt from Prada! Katherine Langford wore a PRADA black cocktail dress accented with all-over embellishment and a velvet crystal belt while attending the premiere of ‘Love, Simon’ in New York on March 8th, 2018.
Celebrity Hairstylist Peter Butler created this gorgeous style for Langford for the NYC premiere of”Love, Simon”. Butler provided the tips below!!
Peter Butler also used Leonor Greyl products to achieve this hairstyle!
“Katherine has a strong eye and soft lip with a black dress that’s covered in sequins. Even though the ponytail frames her face, it doesn’t make her look severe. It has a softening effect. It’s feminine but not cute. She looked sexy — the ponytail has texture but isn’t messy. The clean sides and graphicness of the shape make it all work.”
“I always start everybody with Leonor Greyl Condition Naturelle. Katherine had wet hair when she sat down in my chair. Condition Naturelle neutralizes the hair and rebalances porosity. If you get your hair blown out a lot, sometimes the hair is finer in some places or dryer in others. This fills in those dry, fine bits. It makes them more substantial and protects them from the heat.”
“I used Leonor Greyl Mousse au Lotus Volumatrice before blow drying with a round brush. Katherine’s hair is quite long — almost to her waist and almost one length.
I sprayed her hair with Leonor Greyl Voluforme for hold and twisted it around a 1.5” curling iron.”
“To break apart the curls I brushed out the set with a wide tooth comb. That turned the curls into waves. The key to a great ponytail is figuring out the right position on the head, which is usually at the line right above the top of the ear.
For Katherine, since this was a red carpet, the ponytail couldn’t be too floppy either. I also couldn’t have her ponytail sliding out throughout the night. So I used bungees — with the clips on the end — because they stay in place.
I always use a bit of Eclat Naturel for finishing cream plus a little hairspray for hold, and she was out the door!”
Here’s a close-up of the finished style!
Thanks to Peter Butler for providing really detailed tips on creating this hairstyle. It is definitely do-able providing you are patient and have the right products (Leonor Greyl!)
