LA Artist James Bowers Previews New EP with Full Band + STRINGS(!!) at Hotel Cafe. Wed 1/23, 8 PM!

Edgy Contemporary Los Angeles-based singer/songwriter James Bowers previews his latest EP at Hotel Cafe on Wednesday, January 23 at 8 PM.
This club date will feature his latest release “CREEP” – originally a song done by Stone Temple Pilots. He’s got a unique sound that I haven’t heard in a while (and that means  in a year or so).  His voice is really flexible, he uses it to create a unique atmosphere that are more like the noir films he likes.

James Bowers’ music video for his unique rendition of the popular 90s rock song “Creep,” by Stone Temple Pilots.

Video for “Creep” (first single from Eleanor Sessions EP)

Bowers who is a film noir fan, teamed up with visionary Colombian filmmaker, Federico Torrado Tobón, who directed the video. Combining his smooth vocals with haunting string arrangements, “Creep” is the first release from Bowers’ upcoming EP, Eleanor Sessions, set to release in early 2019.

No Depression states,

“Bowers and his production team do a nice job both sonically and visually maintaining the dark meaning behind the STP lyrics, while instinctively adding a string arrangement that harkens to another song about ‘lonely people.'”

Bowers’ upcoming EP is a mix of original songs and covers, whose production style was inspired by the groundbreaking strings-driven single “Eleanor Rigby” by The Beatles. On this EP, Bowers teamed up with powerhouse producer, Paul Broucek (Lord of the Rings trilogy) and arranger, Jonathan Sadoff (Beautiful Creatures film, starring Jeremy Irons and Emma Thompson). Jonathan Sadoff to create the string arrangements on the 5 tracks that now make up the ‘Eleanor Sessions’.
