Celebrating Cinco de Mayo with Super-Tasty Cocktails from Patron!

 

I am a big Patron fan. I love the array of tequila presentations that the brand has. Here are some great recipes for you to test drive. These cocktails are really unique  and my favorites are the Watermelon-Basil Margarita and the Smoky Pineapple Margarita! No matter which one you choose– even if it’s the basic Margarita, you can’t go wrong with Patron’s Tequilas!

Fresh Ink Smoked Margarita

 

 

Ingredients: 

1.5 oz PATRÓN Silver

.5 oz Fresh lime juice

.5 oz Pineapple juice

.5 oz Agave nectar

1 Pinch of smoked paprika

+ Smoked sea salt rim

+ Lime for garnish

METHOD:
Prepare a rocks glass by moistening the rim and rolling it in smoked sea salt. Add ingredients to a cocktail shaker with ice and shake to chill. Fine strain over fresh ice cubes in the prepared glass. Garnish with a lime and a dusting of smoked paprika.

 

Watermelon Basil Margarita

 

 

Ingredients: 

1.5 oz Patrón Reposado

1 oz Fresh watermelon juice or puree

1 oz Fresh lime juice

1 oz Agave nectar

3 Basil leaves or basil simple syrup

+ Watermelon wedge or dehydrated lime wheel for garnish

METHOD:

Combine ingredients in a cocktail shaker and shake with ice to chill.
Strain onto fresh ice in a double old-fashioned glass.
Garnish with a basil leaf and wedge of watermelon or dehydrated lime wheel.

 

 

Smoky Pineapple Margarita

 

 

This year, celebrate Cinco de Mayo with a new cocktail. While classic Margaritas are synonymous with summer, this smoky pineapple version is somehow even sunnier. Irresistibly simple and sure to impress, this cocktail combines fresh pineapple with bright lime and orange juice to create a drink you’ll keep mixing up well beyond sunset.

Designed with Espanita Anejo in mind, the tequila slips right in with thick honeyed notes. This particular Anejo will also lend roasted marshmallow flavors that spin into the taste of crisp apples, so you’ll never miss a thing about your old Margaritas.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 ounces Espanita Anejo Tequila
  • ½ cup diced fresh pineapple
  • 1-ounce fresh orange juice
  • 1-ounce fresh lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon light agave nectar

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Wet the rim of the glass and dip in the smoked sea salt. Fill the glass with fresh ice and set it aside.
  2. In a cocktail shaker, muddle together diced pineapple, freshly pressed lime and orange juices, and agave nectar. Add Espanita Anejo Tequila and stir well to combine.
  3. Add a handful of ice and shake for 30 seconds. Strain the drink in the prepared cocktail glass.

PATRÓN Classic Margarita

 

 

 

Ingredients: 

1.5 oz PATRÓN Silver

1 oz PATRÓN Citrónge Orange

.75 oz Fresh lime juice

.25 oz Simple syrup

+ Lime wedge for garnish

+ Kosher salt (optional)

Method:

Combine liquid ingredients in a cocktail shaker and shake vigorously with ice to chill.
Strain over fresh ice in a “rocks” glass and garnish with a lime wedge.
Optionally, salt half the rim of the glass with kosher salt.
