With its lines Moschino, Moschino Cheap and Chic, Moschino Mare and Moschino Jeans, the brand is a perfect example of a creative spirit that manages to blend irony and open-mindedness.
In addition to style, trends, and elegance, Moschino uses clothing to speak about the social issues that have always interested the brand’s founder: human rights, pacifism, ecology, and the breaking of conventions in a continual “battle against the obvious”.
Moschino and YOOX.COM, support AMREF (African Medical & Research Foundation), founded in Nairobi in 1957. AMREF is the only international health development NGO in Africa, known for actively involving local communities (95% of its staff are African) and for supporting their autonomous development.
The profits from the Moschino archive sale will be donated to the “Going to school with AMREF” project, active in 50 schools across Kenya, especially in the district of Malindi and Kilifi. The project aims to increase the school attendance rate, the level of hygiene and health conditions in schools, improve existing infrastructures and create new ones, as well as promote health prevention and care.
Since Franco Moschino’s passing in 1994, Rossella Jardini has been Moschino’s Creative Director and responsible for the brand’s image and style; gathering together the founder’s “creative testimony”, she has kept his philosophy and aesthetic alive and flourishing.
