Looking forward to New Years Eve — and Day — for the end of the holiday season events? It’s all about the outfit at this point– from head to toe, you need something that’s going to be smashing yet be comfortable and so very *you* that everyone will remember you (and not because you had one too many martinis or crank-called your Ex!) . What you want is style, chicness, not trendy clothing that will be hot for the proverbial 15 minutes and then *snap* gone.
Enter the line, DOLAN created by LA based designer (and girly girl ) Jodi Dolan. This self-titled line has gone through many evolutions and –lucky for moi–Jodi Dolan is a friend and got seriously into the design groove, cutting her teeth on lots of different fashion projects (false starts included) along with working at serious fashion boutiques in the Orange County/ So. LA County area.
The evolution of DOLAN has picked up speed– and fans- (evidenced by the Revolveclothing.com picking up the line which is a surefire measurement of success across the country and not just LA!) . The line has an attitude that works beyond LA and doesn’t have all the frippery and frills gone crazy that other lines do have. The designs tend to be fairly clean with a ruffle here and a surprise keyhole there (*or entirely surprisingly nearly backless dress) in basic colors shown here but also she has a sense and sensibility with color that make an item pop. ( I have a dotted swiss type blouse that’s killer navy blue. Yummy!)
