Red Carpet Reviews: Celebrity Fashion Ratings of SAG Awards by UK Stylist Michaela Jedinak Part #4

When it comes to style and fashion and walking the red carpet, there are some celebrities who can do it blindfolded– one of these select few is Cate Blanchett.

Colour:: Wonderful combination for her look and in the way it is being worn. The black is away from her head, softened by the floral print and colour. But the white in the print picks up nicely on her fair skin.
Shape: Perfect shape for her blossoming figure. Floral print is a fabulous choice for being pregnant.
Style: Her open wavy hair balances beautifully the full length skirt. And you just got to love her style of shoes- which pulls altogether to a signature look. How very skilled to have made this choice and not by wearing jewellery or a handbag , which would have competed and looked busy on this dress.
Overall Rating:****** SIX stars (stellar performance)

Colour: Here is everything wrong and so wrong that it makes it again original! The choice of colour is too golden for her colouring
Shape: The neck- and shoulder line is wrong for big chest- too much fabric, which adding volume to her frame. If you are curvy don’t wear horizontal stripes it is adding not only volume to your shape but also makes your frame shorter. And that the stripes come in multi colouring is even worsening the case. Her waist is totally disappearing in this block of stripes.
Style: Having a short neck it is never flattering wearing dropped down earrings- just adding too much volume at the wrong place. Also, the choice of bag and shoes are too petite for her shape and scale- it backfires by making her look even bigger
Overall Rating: **( For being brave) Two Stars

Christina Appelgate

Colour: Perfect for her colouring
Shape: Beautiful for her shape- sets off her body in the right focus. The lower layers look great and not bulky because it has enough space due to the Empire line and the length of her legs.
Style: Her hairstyle with the accessories give her a very classy understated look.
Overall Rating:***** Five Stars
Dana Delaney

Colour: Oh Dear- the black with that pink in that style of dress and along the inappropriate cape makes it all very look like- please don’t! Colour combination is far too harsh and it just doesn’t work.
Shape: She is too short waisted for this additional volume around her waist in form of a bow. It just looks cramped and interferes straight away with the full drapey skirt, which makes her look un proportional- too full on the bottom and too lean on top. This shape totally overpowers as well her flat chest.
Style: Why would you combine such a full heavy cape with a half length skirt? If you cover your top half with such a cape you just can’t wear this without tights- it looks naked and indecent? But then wearing tights at daylight in LA sounds ridiculous as well. The red lipstick is as well not helping the case- it is biting with her hair and with the pink lining. And what is it with the straight chain earrings along with the rest of the outfit? Sorry, but it looks cheap, loud and tacky.
