Red Carpet Reviews: SAG Awards Fashion Critique from UK Stylist Michaela Jedinak Part #8

Finally — this is the last review!! Number 8 and saving the best for last– at least in my opinion. Two very interesting ladies who have extremely different styles (and stylists!)
Angelina Jolie

Colour: Fabulous- just stunning with her open hair.
Shape: Great- and this is not an easy dress to pull off- you need the curves, the waist and the height to wear this patterned, billowing straight line of dress.
Style: Spot on what is in fashion now, what is appropriate for the event, incorporating LA style- and still adding her own signature look, which is less is more. \

Kate Beckinsale

Colour: Stunning colour for her and so in fashion now, so well done.
Shape: Beautiful on her body- shows off her waist in a very understated but glamorous way by adding the brooch. The dress looks proportional on her and gives way to the full skirt, which works very well because it balances with her well formed shaped shoulders. The only criticism I have is that the top looks a bit too tight and her bosom looks a bit squeezed but this is my personal opinion but it is full on LA style.
Style: Her hair is kept wavy for her long face- which is not only balancing the look but also in line with the soft lining of her dress. Very clever keeping her up, so it doesn’t interfere with the dress, so it can come in full display when looking at her. Her accessories are well chosen for the outfit and beautifully tuned together.
Overall rating: ***** Five Stars

Marion Cotillard

Colour: Beautiful colour on her and great choice for the type of event
Shape: Wonderful choice for her shape- it is very well fitted without being tight or creasing and the wrong places.
Style: Spot on with the current fashion shape of billowing skirts, nicely pulled of with her hairstyle not too make the look to formal. Only thing missing is a signature piece to make the look her own.
Overall Rating: ***** Five Stars
Sandra Oh

Colour: The colour works with her colouring, but having said that this combination of colours is not the right choice for this type of event. This colour combination works better for a night out at the club
Shape: Now the shape of the dress works for her body and she can pull off as well the additonal “detail of a bow” on her bossom. But!!! Having half of the bow sticking out at this place of her body and in this colour it looks more like if one of her”breast” popped out to say hello.
Style: I find that colour combination with this type of dress is not suituable for an LA event when you pose in front of the camera’s at daylight. It is too heavy in styley and fabric and too juicy in the colour combination with that feature of a bow.
Overall Rating: ** Two Stars
Sara Ramirez

Colour: Fabulous choice for her colouring and great as well in that fabric. It will reflects nicely the daylight and the flashlight from the cameras, which will make her just shine!
Shape: Again fabulous choice for her bodyshape. Her shoulders are building a perfect frame with this mermaid dress tail, which gives a beautiful view to her waist
Style: What can I say- she scores here fabulously as well- her hair pulled back to let her dress get the attention, fantastic choice of colour and fabric for this event – glam, but not stiff, formal but still relaxed. You just must love the choice of shoes with it and as well her jewellery. The longer shape of her earings are a great choice for her face shape and her bracelets with that type of handbag gives her presence and that smile of hers completes that whole signature look.
Overall rating: ****** Six Stars (stellar performance)
