Editor's Closet Online Sale: Bargain Prices on Bric's Bags!!

Editor’s Closet, www.editorscloset.com, is a hot new addition to the high end online sample sale retail segment that has sprung up over the last few months. Online sample sales seem to be a bit of Billion Dollar Babes married with Planetlulu.com with a distinctive twist: the sale revolves around a single brand. The web is getting crowded with various online sample sales in this category. Competition is a healthy for this economy and this category because you the consumer can get genuine designer clothing and accessories for a fraction of the retail. That’s what I call smart shopping!

Editor’s Closet is an invitation-only shopping club (meaning you have to know someone to send you an invite to register) that provides luxe fashions and accessories at great prices for very limited time frames. Now you don’t have to schlep all over town with the bags. Let the bags (jewelry, shoes, and apparel) show up at your doorstep with a simple click of the mouse.
Leveraging its relationships with fashion houses around the world (e.g., Lalique, Sonia Rykiel, Betsey Johnson and Diesel) at greatly reduced prices ( up to 75% off) is a great incentive to become part of this amazing site. Membership is free, however you need to know a member to score that invite or sign up up for the wait-list to eventually gain that coveted membership to snag such fabulous bargains.
Upcoming sale notices are sent out about 48 hours in advance, informing members of the brand and showing a selection of the items featured on the sale.
Sales typically last 1-2 days and items sell out fast– so the suggestion to act quickly means decide *right now* if that’s a must have item or not, because in the blink of an eye (or click of a mouse) that item may be gone.

  1. Just be aware that they have a VERY limited return policy. Crazy that they’ll take back clothes, but not handbags or wallets???
    READ THEIR FINE PRINT!!!

  2. Their customer service is horrible and non-exisitant. I ordered a pair of Dior glasses only to receive the wrong ones. I wrote customer service several times with no response, so I called the number on my invoice. The gentleman I spoke to was timely and emailed me a UPS return label that same day and told me he would credit me a coupon for my troubles. I never got the coupon. Now I know the only reason I got the UPS label so quick is because they want their items back to re-sell.
Once I returned the item I got no credit and heard nothing from them for over 1 week. I wrote them again with no answer. I finally called and the gentleman told me they were having problems with their email system and my email was not there. I am pretty sure all the emails are there, they just have no customer service. I could tell the guy was sitting in the warehouse as I could hear everything in the background. The first person that spoke on the phone put me “on hold for customer service” by leaving the line open and walking over to get someone else to talk to me who merely just picked up the phone which probably sits on some box in the warehouse.
I am supposed to receive my $134 credit in 3-4 days. It is October 5th, and they received my returned glasses on September 24th. Why was my refund not processed upon receipt of my return?? BS I say. Let’s see what that happens.
I also had to tell him I used a coupon that I want back. Real customer service would have seen that and credited it back without me even asking. He then said “Sure, I’ll give you $5”. Umm, no thanks, the coupon I used was for $10. He said he would give that back, so let’s see if I even get that back. Not to say I will buy anything from there ever again. By this time I had no interest or patience to ask for the extra coupon I was initially offered for my troubles.
I have read complaints that their contact information is hard to find. Editor’s Closet contact information can be found by searching for “Editor’s Closet New York, NY” in Google Maps. Their phone number is (212) 253-0160
Perhaps if more people have this contact information they can give these guys a sense of their lack of customer service.
Better sites to shop at are ideeli.com, gilt.com, and ruelala.com
