Britney Spears

Color

It is good to see that she is in a much better place again She looks tanned and very toned and got herself a great pair legs. Though black is not her best colour it doesn’t look so bad on her since she puts some distance between the dress and her face.
Body Shape
Also the shape of dress is very well-chosen for her bodyshape. The halter-neck balances her hips and the top half of the dress provides her with volume in her bust area. The empire- influenced line of her dress is extending the length of her legs and her hemline is finishing at a flattering part of her legs.

Style

BUT –and here is a big but coming her way– you do not wear an elegant, sophiscatated black number in a casual relaxed way as Britney does! it tires the look; it cheapens the dress and changes the fit of the dress. \
You have to sharpen, glamorize and accessorize this dress appropriately.
First, you need a sophisticated or /and glamourous hair style;
Secondl, it’s better to wear tights with this dress: elegant tight, stockings, thigh-highs or a slip so that the dress doesn’t crease or cling to the body.
The skirt line should be creaseless and straight. This is such a strong dress that needs either strong accessories or you let it speak for itself. The delicate, sweet necklace doesn’t add anyting to the outfit except look totally out of place. It underlines the look and the feeling that Britney’s lost her edge and touch that made her the star she was.
Sorry Brittney this is not cutting edge! You can do better!
Rating: ** (2 ) Two Stars!

Debra Messing

COLOR
You must hand this to her- the colour of dress is top notch and the style and colour of her bag and shoes well chosen that go in colour with the dress.
Style
Her hairstyle fits the bill by keeping it simple with a pulled-back hair-style. That is however about as good about this look gets.
BodyShape
When you are flat-chested, wearing outfits that give you volume in that area or helping mother nature by adding some roundness in order to pull off the look of the dress.
The drama in collar and sleeve line is in her favour and balances her hips, but what happens to her bust line? It’s terribly flat and really emphasizes her ribcage which ooks very bony.
In contrast, her bottom-half looks fuller by having too much fabric sitting on her hips and thighs which accentuate her flatness on top even more. The skirt line should have been simple in cut and style,. Messing should have worn a push up bra and kept the plunging neckline less plunging. By doing these couple of things, Messing would have shown a fullness and roundness where it was needed and shed pounds where she didn’t need it.
Her look would have in proportional and in balance– which is isn’t when you what you look at the dress. It is not a dress that naturally fits her bodyshape. Either tweak to fit or choose your outfits to fit.
Overall Rating: *** ( The colour is great and there are some good points in the dress) Three Stars!
