Celebrities Reviewed : Cameron Diaz vs Heidi Klum
Heidi Klum

COLOR:
There is a fine line between odd and quirky. The black leopard print dress works here for Heidi since she is keeping her hair pulled back and keeping the black colour away from her face by having a deep neckline.
BODYSHAPE:
The style of dress works nicely on her silhouette by displaying her neck, bust and waist line. The full skirt and short hemline of it works perfectly since she has impeccable long and shaped legs. The style of the dress takes the seriousness out of the colour black and the edginess out of the dark animal print by making it look softer, youthful and more playful.
STYLE:
The oddness lays not in the dress, colour or pattern of the dress, but in her choice of accessories like her shoes, bracelet and her overlarged red rose in her waist line. It is all too much; too busy! Less would have been here more: e.g. wearing the dress by either dropping the flower in her waist and her bracelet and instead combining it with red or hotpink funky shoes (but kept them no higher up than to ankle length!) Wearing this big rose in your waistline but wearing black Laboutin shoes (with the red heel) would have worked. Her bracelet shouldn’t have been part of this outfit in the first place, it looks wrong in colour and style.
When going to these awards you should create only one focus point instead of many. Otherwise your look is unbalanced and people who look at you don’t know where to look first. It looks like you are all over the place rather being in control. Make a choice beforehand about which body part you are bringing into focus: neck-bust- waistline, back or legs. Once you have decided on this, then the others should complement rather compete with each other for attention….looks too needy. Taking control of the focus of the look is crucial. Having said all this her hairstyle and make up are great and work look perfect for this outfit.

Cameron Diaz

COLOR:
The hot pink is a great colour for her and so in tune with the next fashion season. It is so important for actresses to be dressed in clothes with trends that are coming because their dress sense always will translate how versatile they are, how current and if they are ” in the moment” or just out of touch.
BODYSHAPE:
What a dress! There are not many people who can pull off such an asymmetric dress, which is so complicated in style and shape. Cameron is tall and a lean column in her body shape, than means she has “boyish” figure with hardly any waist definition and a small bust.
The goal is here to create “female curves” around bust, waist and hips. The one shoulder style creates soft curves around her shoulders, bust and provides her with a waist definition. The high-waisted gathering creates the illusion of a waist and volume around her hips. The fuzzy leg line with its details and gathers is nicely put in motion on her long legs. On anyone else, it would have shortened their leg or created extensive unflattering volume to the leg line.
The selection of this asymmetric dress in hot pink is a nice combination, because the shape of the dress avoids that the hot pink is “too Barbie” plus takes the edge of the dress and makes it more girlie and playful.
STYLE:
Her accessory selections of shoes and bag are well chosen. They are complementing the dress without competing with the color or shape. The question is about her hair style and make up. They absolutely spoil the dress and image she was trying to create. Her face and hair doesn’t go with the dress. She is allowing her roots to outgrow but also keeps them in ” natural style”! That doesn’t work: you can’t have it both ways. Either you let them outgrow and display it as a feature or try to hide the roots by e.g. wearing a pony tail ( that would have been superb choice here!) It looks unkempt combined with the dress she is wearing at such an event. Her make-up is wrong. Her hair style is agng her and the make-up puts a icing on her cake – a date-mark on her look. The cheek bones are highlighted in a very unflattering way. (Too much of the wrong blusher!) .It all doesn’t work.
