"Laissez Les Bons Temps Rouler" with the Mardi Gras King Cake from 1-800-bakery.com

” It’s getting close to Mardi Gras– the day before Ash Wednesday which ends a weekend + of partying in New Orleans. As they say in N’awlins, “Laissez Les Bons Temps Rouler” (Let the good times roll!!).
While you might not be making that trip ot New Orleans, you can enjoy at least part of the festivities with this killer of a treat, the King Cake for your personal Mardi Gras Carnival.

Created by 1-800-bakery.com , this is a traditional braided King Cake of cinnamon sweet break with a sugary sweet fondant (read creamy white icing) sprinkled with traditional Mardi Gras colored sugars (purple, green and gold). The braided and colored sugars are symbolic of the jeweled crown of the Three Wise Women who visited the Christ Child on the Epiphany.
Along with this cake is a tiny plastic baby to be hidden inside the King Cake (the person finding the baby has to host the next Mardi Gras party!), a couple of colorful Mardi Gras masks and strings of carnival beads. This 2 1/2 lb. cake arrives fresh and I can tell you from my “personal taste test” that this is a great cake– and I don’t typically eat cake or coffee cake.

King Cake [kingcake] Serving size: 18-20 slices $23.95 plus shipping based on location. 2 Day +15.95, Overnight +33.50
This is one cake you want to order NOW– because this is 1) fun 2) a good reason to have people over and 3) it tastes fabulous!!
