Summer Make-up Meltdown: Dr. Jessica Wu's Tips on How to Keep You Gorgeous!

As the summer heats up across the country –especially in So. California– nothing is worse than a “makeup melt-down”– whether you are at work or at play. It’s just not fun or cool. What’s a girl to do? Turn to Dr. Jessica Wu for these great tips.

Dr. Wu says:

Blot your face with Clean & Clear Oil Absorbing Sheets ($5.49 online or at select food, drug, and mass merchant stores).

I keep a packet in every purse and at the office. When I’m not carrying a bag, I tuck a few sheets in the pocket of my jeans or running shorts to absorb oil and sweat on the go.
Switch to a waterproof eyeliner. Try Clinique’s Brush-On Cream Liner ($14.50 at Clinique stores or online).

You have a few seconds after application to smudge it, then it stays put, even in Bikram class. (You never know who might show up!)
For those of you who feel naked without lip color (myself included) but don’t want to look too done-up when you’re at the pool or beach, try lining and filling in your lips with a waterproof lip pencil, like Lancôme’s Le Lipstique ($23 at Lancôme stores or online).

For the most natural look, choose a nude color (my favorite is Bronzelle). Then just reapply lip balm as needed..

And don’t forget about the rest of your body! Biking and hiking can be a drag when you’re chafed.

Try BodyGlide’s Anti-Chafe Balm ($5.99 for .45 ounce at select sports stores) anywhere you feel rubbing: between you and the saddle, between your breasts or thighs, or on your feet

One more problem you might encounter might be foot friction blisters– from sliding around in shoes or sandals due to sweat. Dr. Scholl’s® For Her Rub Relief Stick works wonders at preventing blisters, chafing and the tube is highly portable so if you need to reapply, just toss this in the bag!
