Confessions of a Fat Girl Finds in New Plus-Size Fashions
Confessions of a Fat Girl’s Blog is a blog I frequently check out. The blogger, AJ, has a smart savvy attitude and is sharp as a razor blade when it comes to realizing what works and doesn’t work in life, love and fashion.
Confessions of a …. Pick one! (Fat Girl, Twitter Junkie,)
AJ is a woman who is plus size but really doesn’t look it because she’s got curves and she’s what Middle America says is normal– size 12-14-ish even 16. What this all means is that somewhere the designers patterns got skewed because if curvy means plus-size or having a booty means plus-size, then there’s something wrong with that mindset. Even the NYT and WSJ covered these issues.
That’s really the fashion issue on the plate these days: what to do about curvy girls and women who aren’t shooting for the size 2 or 0 but living and eating normally. What fashion designers do is shrink things down so far for models and celebrities (though I daresay that Beyonce does not have tiny hips. She definitely has curves)
Anyway back to AJ’s post, she came across this cool collection of dresses at Bloomingdales.com
Not only are there an array of dresses for day and evening, but the styles are on-trend and perfectly fashionable and won’t leave you feeling like you are wearing tent.
Michael Kors Venice geometric print dress.
Rachel Pally White Label Rhea Dress— on sale for summer .. it’s white and azure print is amazing.
David Meister’s matte jersey dress is so beautiful yet would work as a LBD though it’s not black at all. It’s a perfect day to night dress.
Other dresses that AJ / Confessions of a Fat girl blogger mentioned are really interesting.
Make sure you check out AJ– she has both the Confessions of a Fat Girl blog and also a Confessions of a Twitter Junkie blog too. She’s smart, snappy and has interesting ideas.
