Legendary Parfum Creator Maison Francis Kurkdjian Opens in Neiman Marcus!

Francis Kurkdijianis one of the most gifted, extraordinary fragrance creators in the contemporary world. His fragrance creations are measured against legendary fragrances and bring something truly unique to the table. Fragranistas cherish and covet Maison Francis Kurkdjian scents; while those less “knowing” collect them for the unique presentations.Having recently launched in many more Neiman Marcus stores, I managed to snag some time with Francis while he celebrated the launch in the Fashion Island (Newport Beach) Neiman Marcus.

With this wonderous collection that is both serious and indulgent, meant for special occasions and yet used daily in the home– Maison Francis Kurkdjian is about enveloping your life with fragrance in various aspects and various scents. Genius but quite gentle and gentlemanly, Francis Kurkdjian is a bit of an enigma– but then again not. He’s more quiet and he’s always thinking.

That’s so on target about the man and the journey of fragrance that he presents. It is a journey, a travel that he wishes you to have as well as something that you live with.
I had no idea what to expect when I met Francis Kurkdijan –and at times he’s quite playful. Part of that playfulness is shown in the new scented bubbles product (perfect for the eternal child that I am) available in 4 fabulous scents. Agathe’s Bubble– created for his niece whom he talks about in the podcast, here are four scents for her (and you) to learn about in bubble format:
Cold Minted Bubbles (and it’s accurate.. cold like fresh spearmint but not quite that sharp)
Cut Grass Bubbles
Pear Scented Bubbles
Violet Scented Bubbles
Each little tube of bubbles is $18– but don’t give them to your kid!! Give them to yourself to become the child you once were and evoke that time of awe, wonder and fun.

This is a podcast with Francis Kurkdjian– who was phenomenally easy to talk to. We are outside the store as the store was having a fashion show for Tory Burch’s personal appearance. Instead we got to sit outside in the lovely sunshine in this relaxing courtyard and have a conversation.

Aqua Universalis— a unisex fragrance that is truly that. It can be used on skin or laundry– it’s that universal and fulfills the fragrance 24/7 concept.
