Summer Skin: Scoping Out Great Skincare Lines: Somme, MD Skincare and Sophyto

Digging through the various boxes of things I have received and tried, here’s a few that might have gotten lost in the mix.

A for-ever favorite: MD SKINCARE with amazing Alpha Beta peel pads that work wonders for your skin.. Think fast, effective and easy- and you will have nailed it.

The Hydra-Pure Intense Mositure Cream is perfect for summer and keeping skin healthy.
Loving the new Lift and Lighten Eye Treatment which really does work –I saw some dminishment of dark circles when I used it for a week.. consistently (that’s my problem– consistency). Check it out. You might find yourself a fan too!
Sophyto Organics is a “green” line of great skincare that is essentially “food for your face– it’s that clean and that good for your skin.

Here’s what I was able to try– and I loved every single product. I got enough individual tubes (travel size — that are mono-doses) for 2 weeks. I tried to stretch it out as far as I possibly could so I could really see what happens over a longer period of time.
Deep Pore Foaming Cleanser
is a nice cleanser that foams up. Be careful not to use too much because it does a great job with the “less is more” approach and you won’t want to waste this!
The Toner aka Tone & Balance Super Bioactive (pH adjusting solution). I typically don’t use toners — ever, however with this product there is no alcohol and there is no overly-dry, tight feeling. The skin is normalized to the ideal pH and that’s exactly what you want. Just don’t spill it. You might cry if you do.
purifying active mask.jpg
I adore the Purifying Actives Masque but it’s no longer on the Sophyto site. I have no clue why it’s not on their site any long. I like how this masqueclarifies without overly drying one’s skin.

My fave product– and saved till last- Polyphenol Drops. I was given tiny travel tubes of this product and a little goes a long way. I would have loved to have had more than 2 weeks worth.. and I tried to apply it twice daily until it became obvious it was never going to last that long because my skin was drinking this in fast! (heck I live in LA — smogville USA!) . My skin loved this stuff. It sinks in quickly with a non-greasy silky texture.

While there are obviously many more products in the line, I did not have the opportunity to try them. I would suggest you read the reviews keeping in mind your own skin type and order accordingly. Definitely a great product line!
Last but certainly not least, Somme Institute Skincare. I have reviewed this line on this blog before here and here and it got stellar ratings.

Somme Institute has launched additional products — and both in time for summer. Given that you will have more sun exposure, sunblocks are essential and Somme Institute has created a tinted moisturizer that is both treatment and a sheer tint, called Treat and Tint .

This product has a nice sheer color– and comes in three shades and features an SPF 15. (I wish it were SPF 30 and had more colors). It went on easily, smoothing out nicely and didn’t turn the skin chalky. It did last all day and no one seemed to notice I wasn’t wearing makeup when I was running around so there’s good coverage there.
Another new product is Necklines, neck and decollete cream

This silky cream is more than just a moisturizer. It includes the highly engineered vitamin complex, MDT5, to firm, hydrate, and improve the appearance of neck lines and hyper-pigmentation/sun damage on the decollete — meaning across your chest so that when you are wearing that tank top or bathing suit you don’t have dry, pigmented, crepey skin. Nifty product and not a moment too soon!
