Hawaii, Vacation, Beaches, and Relaxation: It’s Cocktail Time x 3

It’s my vacation. I am sporadically checking email–depending on when I can get a connection. I am posting– once a day and today was the day to cut loose a bit. Not only did we hit two different beaches– photos to come– but we had lunch at a not so great place in Poipu Village where the daiquiris were prepared either with Bacardi Rum (as they are supposed to be ) or vodka (which isn’t the way the recipe is written). So I specified the passion-fruit BACARDI daiquiri which took longer to create than one would have thought. Ditto with lunch: 3 salads and each comes out individually and about 10-15 minutes apart. Known for burgers, this place was not the place I had hoped so we finished up and went shopping in this village of stores.

Someone went crazy in the Crazy Shirts store (it was not me!) . I found a top in a cute little store in bright yellow and some other stuff was purchased including a top, a swimsuit and a dress.

Add in some hair clips, a mood ring (made out of natural agate but by the time you read this, it already has broken — sigh!), a few other odds and ends and we are out of there.
I come back to check voicemail, emails (personal & professional) and after having to call 2 people in the mainland (one of which asked WHY I wasn’t out having a cocktail. Dude, I already started with one already!) Working & laundry and then it’s happy hour time which starts about 3 PM here in the islands. So we hit this ocean-front place ( after we hit 3 other places to find that happy hour started 1-2 hours later or 30 minute drive away) right on Poipu with a great oceanfront view and we hit happy hour right on time.
First cocktail was the 007: citron vodka, cranberry juice and cointreau.
Tasty and perfect starter for the evening with a slice of pineapple

After an appetizer, I went for the Tai Chi with Captain Morgan’s Spiced Rum, 151 rum (really!), a light rum, a blend of tropical juices and a dark rum float. Yeow!!! This one was killer. I sipped the float first and I realized it was going to a serious cocktail. Wow, this one went down smoothly and as I am typing this, it’s just after I finished this cocktail. (forgive me if it’s a bit disjointed).
So thanks to Clay for telling me I needed another cocktail. It’s been cocktail time everyday. Sometimes one cocktail, sometimes 2– but not three! So thanks to those who were with me, to those who encouraged me –even from LA– I am not typically downing this much alcohol this often– though there are some people who would love to see me a bit sloshed– I managed to hold my own!!
