Mathew DiSpagna’s Jewelry Collection = Abstract, Avant-Garde Designs! Part 2
For those who like jewelry that’s not seen everywhere and is distinctly “one of a kind”, may I suggest you visit www.MathewDiSpagna.com. This Massachusetts-based jewelry designer has a unique perspective on jewelry done in fine silver, sterling silver and with precious and semi-precious stones
In late 2004, he started working with this cold fusion technique– entirely self taught — and it became his passion . By 2008, DiSpagna was at MASSART, learning the finer points of jewelry design under the auspices of “the bad boy of contemporary jewelry design,” Dan Jocz. During that period other collections evolved: Disepshun and Assassin. The Disepshun Collection features faceted stones instead of crystals and raw semi-precious stones.
The most interesting part of Mathew Dispagna’s jewelry designs is that he continues to evolve and move in different directions. His “rage” for jewelry making is akin to a fever and it encompasses his mind and his life.
Heat-treated, hand- folded copper

Heat-treated plain copper
Corrugated, heat-treated copper fish
LeafPeeps are a unique collection that have yet to make their way to his website. These designs are meant to be a pin or pendant and a favorite of those who seek to find unique, edgy designs that are strictly one of a kind.
If you are interested in buying a one-of-a-kind or having something insanely gorgeous where you pick out the gems and color of the metal and then leave it all to him with an idea of what you want, you will get something absolutely stunning.
Thank you to Mathew DiSpagna for the time and the photos. It’s been a real learning curve–but fun. This is a collection I could dig into.
You can find more of his jewelry on his website or find select pieces on StyleMarket.US
